Why's The Ref Done That?

Explaining why referees decide something. IFAB have a free app for Laws of the Game.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@Sparkyynwa @refsupportuk No, but for optics aren't good, especially when these officials are out here on X calling other referees bias such as Oliver taking work in Saudi Arabia.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@refsupportuk He's a disgrace to refereeing. Not someone I look up to.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@SAFChighlights @JacobHorsfall_ Yes they can due to a chip in the ball. Even if we had no tech on this game, the original decision was offside

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@refsupportuk @talkSPORT He's a hypocrite. He knowingly appointed officials to clubs they supported. I've seen several people question if Keith knew about their allegiances and he blocked them

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@LewisYNWA @ThurgzFTBL @jacobbuck_ Draw a horizontal line from the bottom of the armpit and you'll end up with the arm level with the armpit. It isn't the armpit you measure from, but level with it.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@Paul1971EFC @CHRI9TIAN @Booteful_Game @TheVillaPolls Also, semi automated offsides are more accurate than drawing the lines. The kick point is measured by a chip in the ball and the cameras track the player movements extremely precisely.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@CHRI9TIAN @Paul1971EFC @Booteful_Game @TheVillaPolls What are you actually talking about? So deluded. Grimsby scored a goal where the player handled it. Not disallowed.

Yoro's wasn't a push.

Why would they disallow a MU Pen v Burnley if they are always in favour of the Sky 6?

Honestly, it's embarrassing to see fans like you

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@danpatfraz @BurnleyOfficial @premierleague Draw a line from the parts of the arm that are important. The line is level with the armpit as per the law.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@CHRI9TIAN @Paul1971EFC @Booteful_Game @TheVillaPolls Corruption but VAR recommended a review for a penalty that MU had been awarded at 0-0? Honestly, think about how ridiculous your statement is.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@Paul1971EFC @CHRI9TIAN @Booteful_Game @TheVillaPolls Attackers don't get benefit of the doubt before VAR. No such thing in the laws. Also, VAR didn't change the original decision. Without VAR, the original decision is offside.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@Paul1971EFC @Booteful_Game @CHRI9TIAN @TheVillaPolls It's incorrect to refer to it as a t-shirt lien and causes confusion

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@LewisYNWA @ThurgzFTBL @jacobbuck_ "In line with the armpit". You don't go through the armpit, you go level, otherwise shoulders wouldn't be legal to score or be onside with. It's the same line for handball.

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@ThurgzFTBL @jacobbuck_

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@LewisYNWA @ThurgzFTBL @jacobbuck_ The armpit is the measurement

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@ThurgzFTBL @jacobbuck_ Do you need me to draw circles at which point is being measured? It goes across from the arm to the armpit on both

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@StanCollymore I've only seen one incorrect decision this weekend. King v Chelsea.

What else was incorrect?

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@ThurgzFTBL @jacobbuck_ The sleeve is irrelevant, it's the bottom of the armpit

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@rjaltmann1 @CallumCastel7 United had a penalty decision overturned at 0-0. How is that for your insane ramblings?

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

@Lea_EFC Wrong on all 3 points.

Also, no penalty for the challenge on Cunha at Arsenal. VAR overturned a penalty United were awarded today. Stop with this nonsense

[Why's The Ref Done That? @why_ref]

Man Utd had a penalty decision overturned in the same game. If VAR was fixing games, they wouldn't have done that at 0-0. Absolute ridiculous to think the big 6 get it their own way.

[The Villa Polls @TheVillaPolls]

🗣️VAR was meant to fix the game. Instead, it’s exposed it. Every weekend the big 6 get the breaks, while the rest are left with apologies and “human error.” This weekend was the clearest proof yet — it’s not fit for purpose, and everyone can see it.
