In Prayagraj, a young man was fined ₹6,000 by the police for irregularities in his license plate and for riding a bike without a helmet.

Afterward, as he was leaving the spot, he noticed the same policeman who had issued the fine riding a motorcycle on the road without a helmet. Seeing this, the young man became upset.

He asked the policeman to stop and said, “Sir, you fined me, but you are also riding without a helmet.”

The policeman replied, “It’s alright, I got away.”

The young man responded, “How is it alright? You should be wearing a helmet too.”

After that, the policeman allegedly tried to snatch his phone, and the young man said, “Please talk from a distance, sir. Since you fined me, you should also be fined.”

This incident highlights how some policemen are quick to advise others to follow traffic rules but fail to follow the same rules themselves.

Such individuals should also be held accountable under traffic laws.

But we do not talk about the billions of people who drink water safely every single day.

This is the same logic governments use with technology bans.

Telegram was "misused", so ban it for 150 million people.

* VPNs help criminals, so ban privacy for everyone.
* Social media spreads misinformation, so ban free speech.
* One bad use case is reason enough to control what 150 million people can access.

We treat citizens like babies. As if we cannot be trusted to make our own decisions.

As if the solution to a problem is always to remove the tool rather than fix the actual problem.

Someone leaked exam papers on Telegram.

Did they arrest the corrupt official who sold it? No.

They banned Telegram.

Someone used a VPN for illegal activity. Did they prosecute the person? No.

They banned VPNs.

Someone spread fake news on Facebook. Did they ban misinformation? No.

They banned free speech.

The pattern is always the same. Find a problem. Blame the technology. Ban the tool. Problem solved? No.

But control is tighter now.

The real solution is hard. Banning is easy.

And governments love it easy.

एक तरफ अनुराधा तिवारी @talk2anuradha जी पर सालों पुराने फर्जी edited tweet पर बिना जांच-पड़ताल के तुरंत SC/ST Act लगाकर कार्रवाई कर दी जाती है, और दूसरी तरफ धर्मेन्द्र जाटव जैसे लोग खुलेआम ब्राह्मणों के खिलाफ हिंसा भड़काते हुए “ब्राह्मण को मारने पर इनाम” जैसी बातें लिखते हैं, फिर भी प्रशासन और तथाकथित मानवाधिकार गैंग की चुप्पी नहीं टूटती।

अगर किसी अन्य वर्ग के खिलाफ ऐसा लिखा गया होता तो अब तक टीवी डिबेट, गिरफ्तारी, मोमबत्ती मार्च और पूरे सिस्टम का रोना शुरू हो चुका होता। लेकिन क्योंकि निशाना ब्राह्मण हैं, इसलिए इसे “गुस्सा”, “फ्रस्ट्रेशन” या “हेट स्पीच नहीं” कहकर दबा दिया जाएगा।

आज हालात ये हैं कि ब्राह्मणों के खिलाफ खुलेआम गालियाँ देना, उनकी बहन-बेटियों पर अभद्र टिप्पणियाँ करना, नरसंहार की बातें करना सो कॉल्ड शोषित वंचित लोगों के लिए “सामाजिक न्याय” बन गया है। झूठे केस ठोक दो, सोशल मीडिया पर जहर उगलो, और फिर पीड़ित को ही अपराधी साबित करो — यही नया इकोसिस्टम बना दिया गया है।

धर्मेन्द्र जाटव जैसे लोगों पर तुरंत कठोर कानूनी कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए। किसी भी जाति के खिलाफ हिंसा भड़काना अपराध है, लेकिन ब्राह्मणों के मामले में कानून की यह सिलेक्टिव ब्लाइंडनेस अब साफ दिखने लगी है। अगर देश में सच में समान कानून और समान संवेदनशीलता है, तो ऐसे लोगों की तत्काल गिरफ्तारी होनी चाहिए, वरना “जातिवाद खत्म करने” के नाम पर सिर्फ एकतरफा नफरत को संरक्षण मिलता रहेगा।
