100% this. My mom told me to never be dependent on a man for my financial security because she learned the hard way. I over corrected and now make more than my attorney husband. He loves it and I feel secure in both our marriage and my life. I'm raising my daughter to do the same. I also love keeping house and would love to do that full time but too many men abused their positions of power over the decades and made that option too risky for most women.

“Trad wife” content can be soothing and pleasant, but 16 year old me would have rolled her eyes at an aproned stepford wife baking cookies.

And many of us find it cringe too, for good reason.

It’s shallow, boastful, and simply rebrands housework as art rather than drudgery. It appeals to the eye but not the soul or the intellect.

Our matriarchs need to embody everything that makes life meaningful.
