@FinPhilosopher Not sure as to the mechanics of a 401k (I'm in Canada), but if it's essentially a locked-in retirement account, you make a good point. Here we have the option of a TFSA (tax free gains, accessible whenever), RRSP (taxed as income upon withdrawal), and then the locked-in accounts.
@FinPhilosopher I meant if you own a house, accessing the equity is difficult as compared to having an investment account. That is why I value the latter much more than the former. (My wife and I are split about 70-30 on investments/home equity).
@BagelPolling Yet you'll still see absolute buffoons argue that Reddit is heavily skewed to the right. I guess if one is to the left of Mao, a Khrushchev looks like Benito Mussolini.
@zelinarxy Just like the insane governmental violations of human rights during Covid was an "inescapable story". The truth is that people are so politically deranged now, that what should be a huge news story ends up as a nothing burger to a large portion of the population.
@BagelPolling The biggest blackpill in life is knowing that no heads will literally roll for this. Not those of the perpetrators, much less the cowards who allowed it to go on.
@JoshRainerGold Being a "maybe we shouldn't care about irrelevant shit" 1990's liberal is a far cry from the "you're racist for opposing mass immigration, men can turn into women, people who have opinions I don't like should be killed" modern day liberal.
๐จ๐ฆ๐ธ๐ด Today, I introduced a private memberโs bill that would declare July of every year in Canada as Somali Heritage Month!
Iโd like to thank MP @HonAhmedHussen for co-sponsoring this bill with me and for his counsel.
I hope that all MPs will support this legislation.
Canada is home to many Canadians of Somali heritage.
Canadians of Somali descent have left and continue to leave a historic mark on Canada, with contributions that span communities across the country and are reflected in Canadaโs economic, political, social and cultural life.
If passed, Somali heritage month would give us an opportunity to celebrate that heritage, the role that Canada has played in supporting Somali Canadians and their contributions to Canada.
@StayDrunkI "Who they are" in this case likely includes some massive character flaws that they believe the man should overlook. Meanwhile the man isn't allowed to play video games or some shit, because that's just unacceptable.
@dissproportion This guy is just projecting that the "elder millenials" in that situation are his political enemies, and is thus happy to be an asshole about it.
@TotallyNOTTrio For some reason, you or I are forced to work until we're in the grave, but celebrities are supposed to be paid well enough to be financially set after a couple of years. They couldn't possible just do a regular job after their fame has waned.
@arielhelwani It'd be fine if he was taking a principled stance of "keep politics out of wrestling", but this is obviously not the case, as he's moved to another company that also allows politics to fester in its midst.
@TristinHopper But there literally is no genocide in Gaza unless one completely changes the definition of the word "genocide". But no one would do that, because that would be a crass and cynical attempt at manipulation, right?
