Marrying is worth the risk.
Kids are worth the risk.
Church is worth the risk.
Maintaining friendships is worth the risk.
Getting older is worth the risk.
Life is worth the risk.
You can’t choose when you fail. But you can choose to fail back into the arms of Christ.
@HormoneHangover It’s a different kind of hard. Which kind is better or worse for you depends on a lot of things, not least of which are your temperament and personality 🤷♀️
I honestly think the wisdom of "clean your own room" is still the best advice you can take, and it's the one that @jordanbpeterson should be known for, and it's the one that seems obvious but very few people actually do (literally and metaphorically)
We all care about all the big global, meta things. None of us has real impact on getting it fixed. Your attention should be 99% on what is closest to you, and making that the best you can in all the ways you can. Your room. Your home. Your family, Your work. Your church. Your neighborhood.
"There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one..."
- C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

@goblinodds I am truly happy for people who have a good experience and most of my pregnancies were moderately easy. I will say that posts that read smug/oblivious to why anyone complains vs grateful for a good experience/result hit different.
@MRaynes1979@ryanburge This was my first thought as well. How much of the disparity is simply that 20-somethings are a smaller percentage of society than in the past?
@shebringsjoy Interesting. It was a pretty big no no in the circles I was in unless the divorce/remarriage happened prior to becoming Christians or there was adultery by the other party.
