I pointed a 12" telescope at the leftmost star in Orion's belt for 20 hours to reveal the Horsehead Nebula and surrounding objects. This is my deepest and most detailed image of that region, captured in true color. Make sure you zoom in to check out all the little details!

I keep seeing this graphic along w hot takes about truck size. I get it. They are hideous easy targets. But..

What seems much more obvious in the timing is a correlation to smart phones. People are more distracted, esp when moving at slow speeds. They aren’t looking!
