i was going to write a normal introduction here, but there's a situation involving the cat in my banner.
he started as a stupid reaction image for my instagram story. i gave him an oversized leather jacket, cyberpunk glasses and sneakers large enough to require a building permit.
now he has a name, netrunner cat, a criminal record i cannot legally discuss, and somehow his own place on my profile.
meanwhile, i'm xander. i build software, disappear into video games for questionable amounts of time, listen to music that probably concerns my neighbors, and occasionally follow a random idea until it becomes an entire project.
anyway, if the cat contacts you about a business opportunity, please don't send him money.
@kimmonismus@nvidia performance per watt is interesting, but useful work per dollar over the hardware's lifetime is what i'd really want to optimize. especially when models keep changing every few months
@ThePrimeagen you gave an ai agent a desktop and told it to explore. that's not qa anymore, that's putting a raccoon in an office and observing the damage
@TokenGremlin if we're comparing models, isolate the models. if we're comparing what users can actually build, the toolbox absolutely counts. two different competitions.
@_lhermann try the registrar's contact form or a domain broker. and whatever you do, don't sound desperate. that's how a $500 domain suddenly becomes a $50k family heirloom
@ericweinstein the lesson from plane crashes wasn't to accept the deaths and move on. it was to figure out why they happened and make sure they don't happen again.
@yacineMTB can't wait for a 3b model running on someone's gaming laptop to start publicly humiliating a trillion parameter model with its own nuclear power plant
@iruletheworldmo people talking about google like it's an underdog is hilarious. brother that's a trillion dollar company, not three guys building models in a garage
