The bodies of four missing divers has been located inside the Vaavu atoll cave on a joint search & recovery operation conducted by MNDF CG, @PoliceMv, & a team of experts arranged by the Italian Government. Further dives to be carried out in the coming days to recover the bodies.
My hope and prayers are with the Finnish team, together with @33Rifshan Mohamed Rifshan and everyone involved in the recovery efforts, are able to finally bring some closure to the families affected by this tragedy. Insha Allah
Now get some rest or sleep that is enough clout chasing for the past two days. It is not going to help anyone at this moment.
The friends and families of the fallen divers, including their fellow teammates, are mourning. The very least one can do is show compassion. This is not about any one individual; it is about families who have lost their loved ones.
Sultan park reopened after 9 months of “renovation” and this is the only major noticeable upgrade. But we are told this can only be used while there’s @MNDF_Official present. Staff has no idea when that would be. What’s the point of all these things if kids can’t use it?
SAMPA the Maldives’ largest Marine Protected Area.
@MoTmv@MoEnvmv@Thoriqibrahim FYI this is today!
South Ari Atoll remains chaotic, poorly regulated, and weakly enforced. For investors and operators, this is unacceptable.
Stake holder Meetings mean nothing without enforcement and accountability. Without real action, another fatality is not a matter of if but when.
🚨@presidencymv@MMuizzu
Reopening gulper shark fisheries disregards the advice of over 50 Scientists a decision that undermines evidence based policy and the Maldives’ global reputation.
You are about to target a Critically Endangered species listed by @IUCN and risk 15 years of Shark Sanctuary Status.
Science and sustainability must guide national policy!🇲🇻
@presidencymv@MMuizzu If you approve this, it risks legitimizing the already active black market for shark and rays products making illegal trade easier to disguise as “legal” catch.A dangerous step backward.This is just a ticket for loopholes and shady business to operate,nothing good will come out of this!
Let’s not jeopardize our dive and tourism fairs Tourism earns billions annually it’s the lifeline that keeps the Maldives afloat.

🚨 Maldives Shark Sanctuary at Risk!
The gov plans to allow gulper shark exploitation from Nov 1, a move that would end Maldives’ long-standing shark sanctuary status and open the door to trading other shark species.
This is a step backward for an ocean-dependent tourism nation like ours.
Come hang out and help build momentum for our petition at Lakudhi Jetty tomorrow7:00am 24th! 🦈🌊
