I want to highlight one area where Tamil Nadu has always been strong - developing human capital.

Today’s budget includes these important measures:

22,500 vehicle mechanics will be trained in electric vehicle (EV) servicing and battery maintenance over the next five years. These mechanics form a critical part of the EV ecosystem.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning courses are being introduced in ITIs starting this year.

5 lakh youth will be trained in AI and related skills by 2031. They will be selected from colleges and polytechnics.

12 lakh college students will receive industry aligned skill training this year to make them employment ready.

For those preparing for government jobs, free coaching for SSC, RRB and IBPS exams will be provided at every District Employment Centre.

களத்தில் இறங்கி ஒரு வீடு கட்டிய அனுபவம் இருந்தால் தானே சிமெண்ட், செங்கல் விலை தெரிய வரும்? ஏசி அறையில் உட்கார்ந்துகொண்டு திமுக அரசின் தோல்விகளை மறைக்க ஃபேக்ட் செக்கர் அவதாரம் எடுத்தால் இப்படித்தான் உளறத் தோன்றும்! அரசியல் லாபத்திற்காக எண்களை மட்டும் வைத்து திசைதிருப்ப வேண்டாம்!

இங்கு நிதி குறைக்கப்படவில்லை; மாறாக ஒரு ஏழை எளிய குடும்பத்திற்குச் சென்று சேரும் உதவித் தொகை ₹1.90 லட்சம் உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

₹3.10 லட்சத்தை வைத்துக்கொண்டு இன்றைக்கு ஒரு நல்ல வீட்டின் அடித்தளத்தைக் கூட போட முடியாது என்பது கள யதார்த்தம் அறிந்த எல்லோருக்கும் தெரியும். பயனாளிகள் மீது கூடுதல் நிதிச் சுமையை ஏற்றாமல், அரசே பெரும்பகுதி செலவை ஏற்பது தவறு என்று சொல்கிறீர்களா?

குறைந்த மானியம் தரும்போது, பயனாளிகள் வீட்டை முடிக்க கந்துவட்டிக்கும், தனியார் வங்கிகளுக்கும் சென்று கடன் வாங்கும் சூழல் உருவாகிறது. மானியத்தை ₹5 லட்சமாக உயர்த்தியதன் மூலம் குடும்பங்கள் கடன் சுமையில் சிக்குவது தவிர்க்கப்படுகிறது.

காகிதத்தில் 1 லட்சம் வீடுகள் என்று கணக்குக் காட்டி, நிதியில்லாமல் பாதியில் நிற்கும் கட்டடங்களை உருவாக்குவதை விட, அதே ₹3,500 கோடி நிதியில் 70,000 குடும்பங்களுக்கு முழுமையாகக் கட்டி முடிக்கப்பட்ட, தரமான வீடுகளை வழங்குவதே உண்மையான மக்கள் நலன்.

எண்ணிக்கையைக் குறைத்து விட்டார்கள் என்பது மேலோட்டமான அரசியல் குற்றம் சாட்டல். மானியத்தை உயர்த்தியது தொலைநோக்குப் பார்வையுடன் கூடிய நடைமுறைச் சாத்தியமான முடிவு

Revenue can be raised either by increasing prices and taxes or by reducing leakages and stopping money from going into private pockets.

Though the second path is the most difficult, the government has chosen that path so as not to burden the public and to benefit society.

Increasing prices and taxes can be done overnight. But the difficult path of increasing revenue by eradicating leakages and corruption requires time.

As the government itself has said, it would take two years to bring things in order. That sounds realistic.

Instead of burdening people with price increases and taxes, what is being done is redirecting the money that was going into private pockets to the state treasury.

In my view, this is the right thing to do.

I was speaking to someone well connected to the Chennai real estate market.

He says no money is being demanded now for approvals, which is bringing builders’ costs down.

The temporary ban on the movement of building materials out of the state has started bringing prices down, and supply is also picking up.

These are all good indicators. But ultimately these benefits should reach the common people.

If no money is required for approvals,which is reducing builders’ costs, then this needs to start reflecting in their selling prices to customers as well.

The government needs to nudge the builders in this regard.

இன்று அதே நிதி நடைமுறையை மறைத்து, 2026-27 திருத்த மதிப்பீட்டை மட்டும் காட்டி மக்களைத் தவறாக வழிநடத்துவது ஏன்?

ஆட்சி முடியும்போது அவசர அவசரமாக ஓட்டுக்காக லேப்டாப் வழங்கிய ஸ்டாலின் சார் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்ததும் லேப்டாப் வழங்கப்படப் போவதைப்பொறுக்காமல் சொந்தமாக யோசிக்கத் தெரியாத அரசு தன் அரசு என்பதை சுரத்தே இல்லாமல் ஒரு சூப்பர் சொதப்பல் அறிக்கை விட்டிருக்கிறார்.

எங்கே தான் நடத்திய ஊழல் மாடல் உதார் ஆட்சியின் ஊழல்கள் எல்லாம் மக்கள் மத்தியில் அம்பலப்பட்டுவிடுமோ என்ற அச்சத்தில் தங்கிலீஷ் மாடல் அறிக்கை விட்டு தடுமாறி இருக்கிறார்.
