Shivanna’s claim is a blatant lie. The evidence is right there. Look at the footage showing the appalling condition of the Doddamara road, Rayasandra–Guttahalli road and Gattahalli–Doddakannelli roads. Look at how a physically challenged person is forced to navigate this stretch. This is the reality residents are facing every day.
Yes, @kiranshaw @TVMohandasPai may be a billionaire, but that doesn’t stop them from supporting humanitarian causes and standing up for people who genuinely need help.

And, Shri Shivanna, let’s not rewrite history. When residents came to meet you about their problems, you told them to approach the BJP MP and even questioned why they had not voted for you.
(Yesterday, you came for the inauguration of a small lane road, but you couldn’t find the time to visit these major stretches and witness their pathetic condition firsthand.)

Please don’t lie to the people you are supposed to represent. Residents deserve accountability, action and the truth, not excuses and political blame games.

Absolutely, @kiranshaw Ma’am. And your point actually makes this question bigger than the MLA.

If @MLAShivanna @b_shivanna177 has been raising this for years but genuinely lacks the resources to fix it, then residents need to know where the resource chain is breaking.

Because the public record shows something more complicated than simply “one MLA isn't fixing a road.”

1. MLA PERFORMANCE :-

CIVIC Bengaluru’s latest 2023–25 report card gives Anekal MLA:

• 97.1% Assembly attendance — Rank 2/32
• 46 questions — Rank 8/32
• 4 committees — Rank 2/32
• But KLLAD utilisation: 66% of ₹4 Cr - Rank 18/32.

So let's acknowledge the good record - and ask the harder question about the money that was actually available.

2. STATE-LEVEL FUNDING

In the 2023 Nava Nagarothana redistribution, Anekal received ₹5 Cr, while the other 11 MLAs in that package received ₹40 Cr each.

In the 2024 Bengaluru road-development order, the allocation was ₹10 Cr per Assembly constituency, while Anekal was allocated ₹5 Cr.

Whatever the administrative explanation, the numbers are real.

So: why the differential allocation?

Publish the formula.

3. THEN COMES THE REALLY BIG NUMBER

Bengaluru South City Corporation's @comm_blr_south 2026–27 budget targets ₹1,101.3 Cr in property-tax revenue from the South zone alone. The corporation also expects additional revenue from bringing properties into the formal tax system; its commissioner said 1.83 lakh e-khatas had already been issued out of 5.13 lakh properties, with further digitisation underway.

I'm deliberately NOT claiming Choodasandra/Rayasandra/Gattahalli/Doddamara generate ₹X crore in property tax.

Let's get the official ward-level number first.

But this rapidly urbanised apartment corridor deserves a transparent answer:

How much tax is assessed here?
How much is actually collected?
How much is allocated back to its infrastructure?

4. AND THEN THERE IS THE AGENCY PING-PONG

This is where the story gets even more serious.

The Doddamadamara Road was already reported in 2021 as effectively non-motorable, with residents pointing to the explosive growth of apartments and schools along the corridor. The road was being used to connect Hosa Road and Sarjapur Road.

In 2023, the notorious waterlogged stretch off Hosa Road - the “Anekal Pond” - was reported as falling under Shantipura Panchayat @ShantipuraP and PWD @JarkiholiSatish , rather than @GBA_office .

And in an earlier Shantipura Road case, the Panchayat explicitly said it didn't have the funds to asphalt the road, while suggesting @GBA_office should bear the cost because @GBA_office garbage compactors were heavily using it.

So residents get trapped in the same loop:

Panchayat → “PWD road.”
PWD → “funds/administrative sanction.”
MLA → “not enough resources.”
Corporation → “not our road.”

Meanwhile, citizens continue driving through it.

THIS is the accountability gap.

So let's stop guessing.

I am asking every responsible institution to publish the ledger.

→ Actual collection
→ Arrears
→ Number of assessed properties
→ Apartment/commercial tax base
→ Ward-development allocation
→ Road & drainage expenditure
→ Work orders
→ Contractors

• Allow access only at designated crossings

Make violations difficult — and they stop.

If this works in Electronic City,
it can work across Bengaluru.

Good design already exists here.
Now it needs to scale.
