Dear BitMEX Users,
Today, we share with a very heavy heart that BitMEX exchange will shut down its operations, effective 23 September 2026 at 04:00:00 UTC.
The owner and operator of BitMEX, HDR Global Trading Limited, has made the difficult decision to close operations following a strategic review of the business.
It may not look the same today, but we are proud of our 11+ year legacy and the role we played in shaping the crypto industry. We invented the 100x leverage perpetual swap, which for most of you, was the first step to your crypto trading journey. It is now the most traded financial product in the crypto industry, adopted by thousands of users and exchanges. And we remain proud of our robust security infrastructure, which has allowed us to maintain a flawless track record of 0 customer funds lost to hacks in our entire operating history.
We want to reassure you that your assets remain fully safe and under your control during this transition period. This announcement is just to give enough time to ensure a smooth withdrawal process for everyone.
From today we strongly encourage all users to close their positions and withdraw their funds as soon as convenient. For more details on the full process, please read our blog: https://t.co/OOHeh6xHm8
BitMEX was once home to some of the greatest traders today. Our team has dedicated tremendous effort and passion into building the platform into what it is, and we are glad to have reached some of you during your time with us. To everyone who has traded, supported, and grown alongside us - thank you for your trust over the last 11 years.
The BitMEX Team

Ease of doing business, something which is unheard of India.
I really don’t care what you say, or think but US/Canada provide way better eco system to run/establish companies.
Tried and Tested.
It’s truly inspirational to hear about Kimi’s vision and AI developments.
At @TrustWallet we actively encourage and promote AI adoption. As Zhilin says, new production workflows require a new way of organization. The future is no longer about how many people we have in the company, but how intelligent and impactful each individual can be in creating value for the company and our users.
I firmly believe cryptocurrency will be one of the earliest and biggest beneficiaries of AI-driven organization. The industry is ever-changing, fast-paced, full of opportunity, and still crowded with traditional, bulky large organizations. A fundamental shift is underway: success is no longer measured by how big a company is, but by how agile and flexible a team can be in adapting to change. This almost always points to smaller, sharper teams. Trust Wallet is roughly 100 people strong, yet with AI we deliver value comparable to a 1,000-person organization. The real difference between a hundred-person team and a thousand-person team is the amount of internal politics and bullshit, the skills that are rapidly becoming obsolete in the AI era.
2026 will mark the beginning of the crypto industry properly rewarding the best talent and clearing the path for fast-moving startups to thrive. Choice is more important than effort. Position yourself wisely.
The future is now.
It’s game day!

This morning, between 14:18–14:23 UTC, Ostium experienced a security issue leading to a loss of funds from the public OLP vault. Our team identified the issue within minutes and immediately began taking steps to contain it, including coordinating to pause trading contracts within the hour. We are working closely with relevant law enforcement authorities, SEAL 911, and third-party cybersecurity experts.
No founder ever wants to deliver an update like this. We recognize the responsibility that comes with building infrastructure that people choose to use and trust. We take that responsibility seriously, and our focus is on resolution and responding with transparency and accuracy.
To the stablecoin issuers, bridges, protocols, and security partners who have moved quickly to assist us: thank you for your continued support.
We will continue to provide updates as they arise.
A third of the @0xPolygon team stopped working last week.
we asked them to pause their work to go build something with AI instead and we put $15k on the table for them to make something that actually moved the needle and push the business forward.
3 days later we had 13 projects, 6 of which are already live today, 1 already settling real transactions on mainnet across 5 chains!
teams that arent doing something like this internally are going to start losing ground to the ones that are. for payments specifically, the next decade gets built by whoever actually wires AI into how their people work day to day. its clear by now that having AI expertise wasnt an option a while ago.
didnt think this was possible but im genuinely more bullish on my team after watching what they built in those 3 days 💜
At @CoinDCX, my team and I have spent years working through crypto regulation in India and we track global developments too very closely.
One development we have been watching is Europe's MiCA experiment: the Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, the EU's attempt at one law for the whole industry.
It pulled off something genuinely hard: one rulebook across 27 countries, one licence to operate everywhere. Everyone calls it the model to emulate.
But we've come to believe the rulebook was the easy part. What Europe is running into now is the harder question: not what the rules say, but who actually enforces them.
