I ported https://t.co/mDQdwlo11W over to @CloudflareDev Workers + R2 (1TB of image hosting) + D1 (for full-text search) recently and I'm super happy with it! Using React Router v7 + React 19, about 11 mil dynamic requests/month, served in under 35ms! Total cost ~$25/month.
@CJHandmer@cremieuxrecueil If the pilot says they will maintain visual separation, it means they have seen the other plane and are able to stay clear of it. That is the end of ATCs responsibilities.
It's very weird that nobody told me just how interesting or fun it was going to be.
Though I think partly it's because the delight is so particular and difficult to express. The hard parts are the only parts relatable to non-parents.
You aren't supposed to get your childlike wonder back. That was created for you in part by the adults that loved and cared for you. Once you grow up, it's your turn to give it to someone else.
babies seem to start reciprocating prosocial behavior earlier than i thought they would. i went in kinda assuming that kids are naturally supposed to be selfish/narcissistic until they're like 3+ years old or something, but my 1yo tries to feed me his food, offers me playthings
Sleep training babies to cry until they “give up” sets them up poorly biologically speaking, and sleep training coaches won’t disclose this because sleep training is all about the “mental health” of the mother. But what about the baby?
When a newborn finally gives up after crying as hard as they can, it’s because their instincts tell them their mother is dead and they need to protect themselves/their energy from the thing they think killed her. This is highly traumatic to the nervous system and it sets the foundation for stress disorders, poor attachment, and even disease in the future.
Consider that the short amount of time your constant closeness is demanded by your baby is for a good and necessary biological reason!
Thank you for participating in the Nate Silvers election simulation universe 6896. You have three hours to say goodbye to your loved ones before shutdown!
anyway you don't have to sign up your 4 year old for 50 Things By Car you can just let them play in the sink and read to them and have them practice drawing on their own and have friends over
and give them siblings
