Another outrageous action. The Netanyahu govt is banning over 30 aid orgs — including CARE, Mercy Corps & Doctors Without Borders groups — from providing life-saving aid to people in Gaza.
Another betrayal of humanity. And, once again, the Trump Admin says and does nothing.

On December 14th, I sat across from 142 New Yorkers as they shared their concerns, their dreams, the leadership they long for from City Hall. Our campaign was built around listening to the people of New York, and we will govern in the same way. Tomorrow, we get to work.
I'm heading into my 12th year of working in social services and I cannot overstate how often the answer to our social ills boils down to "just fucking give people the money they need to survive"
🟢 New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will become the first NYC mayor to swear in using the Quran.
During his public ceremony at City Hall, Mamdani will place his hand on Qurans that belonged to his grandfather and grandmother. At a separate private swearing-in, he will also use a Quran that belonged to Arturo Schomburg, the Black Puerto Rican historian, writer, and archivist whose collection helped shape the Harlem Renaissance and founded the Schomburg Center.
Mamdani’s advisers told The New York Times the choice reflects New York’s layered religious, racial, and immigrant history, and marks a long-overdue recognition of Muslims in the city’s civic life.
The suffering in Gaza is ongoing and severe. The Palestinian people need all the help the world can give. This is not the time to cut back aid or the NGOs who provide it. A lasting peace is not built on hunger and disease. @WCKitchen is doing our part next to others! But all NGO’s including @UN must be allowed to do what they do best! @Isaac_Herzog please! https://t.co/JlnBAIsXjF
Zohran Mamdani, New York City’s first Muslim mayor, will use two family Qurans and one that belonged to the writer Arturo Schomburg at his two swearing-in ceremonies.

Israel has pushed the Palestinians out of almost all of their villages in Area C, where Israel was given full security responsibility in the Oslo Process. They do so through violence and intimidation.
Now they are doing the same in Area B, where theoretically they share responsibilities with the PA. The army and settlers are working together, to ethnically cleanse these areas, which make up 82% of the West Bank. They want to leave Palestinians with only 18% of what is, to begin with, a tiny portion of their land.
In three cases, Haaretz encountered Palestinians living in Area B whose displacement from their homes involved the army – whether through inaction, blocking their return, or directly expelling them
Joint statement on Gaza from the foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom:
Here we go - the beginning of a smear campaign against a man who was who was willing to risk his life to save others … because his actions dispel the narrative of division in our society being peddled by agenda-driven journalists and politicians.
Yale Law professor is baffled that Mamdani is showing solidarity with labor unions that didn't endorse him. The idea of a class politics rather than back-scratching is "one of the strangest things I have ever seen"
Mamdani enters office quite the popular dude: Net favorable is up like a rocket since Sept in NYC... Up 24 pts to +38 pts!
Statewide, Mamdani's no drag... he's like the Empire State building at +15 pts vs. Trump who is a drag & is like a city garbage dump to voters at -30 pts.
Beginning to process what I witnessed in Palestine.
The devastating human toll of the illegal actions that are encouraged right here in my home district is unspeakable.
There is nothing more sacred than a human life.
The fact that there is no leader on this currency is a welcome sign and one that is being undervalued in discussions on the topic.
It’s a symbolic gesture, but an important one.
