How can there be an across the board 50% increase of seats for all states in the Lok Sabha as long as the enacting formula of Indian democracy that only is formalised through the process of delimitation enshrined in Article 81 ( 2) ( a) holds the field - One person, one vote one value.

Article 81 ( 1) ( a) that delineates the total number of seats in the Lok Sabha is
Subject to Article 81 ( 2) ( a) -the enacting formula of delimitation.

The current strength of the Lok Sabha that stands at 550 is not an arbitrary number arrived at by a mythical political consensus.

It is arrived at by determining the rough numerical size of a Parliamentary Constituency and then dividing it by the total population.

Then depending on the share of the population of a state in the total population of India a particular state gets X or Y number of seats.

If there is at all an arbitrary number in this entire process that is not explained is how is the average size of a Parliamentary Constituency is determined as that is the key that ultimately determines the total size of the Lok Sabha because the delimitation Commission is appointed in pursuance to the mandate of Article 82 of the Constitution of India and the total size of the Lok Sabha already stands determined in Article 81 ( 1) ( a)

This enacting formula is further reinforced by proviso to Article 81 ( 2) Proviso.
