This person submitted a FOIA request to his City for HIS OWN LICENSE PLATE (Flock Data) and was DENIED due to "privacy concerns."
I REPEAT: When a man requested FLOCK FOOTAGE of HIS OWN CAR, the CITY claimed it was a PRIVACY VIOLATION and DENIED his request.
So Flock can SPY on you in a mass surveillance state but YOU cannot even see YOUR OWN data or surveillance footage of YOU YOURSELF.
Make it make sense.
When Blinken designated Africa Stream a Russian “foreign influence op,” few voices outside the Black left raised alarm. Now congressional subpoena target BT News under Trump. The state repression is clearly escalating but its a pattern thats been building-not emerging in a vacuum
Final vote total for the NDAA today which tragically merges our military technology and supply chains with Israel’s. Let’s hope this version fails in the Senate because Section 219 is a betrayal of our sovereignty.

In my article about rape of Palestinians in Israeli prisons, one person who spoke on the record about having been raped was Sami al-Sai, a freelance journalist in the West Bank. He now reports that Israeli authorities recently delivered a warning to him through a relative: Drop media interviews or wind up back in prison. I wish Prime Minister Netanyahu would investigate these sexual assault allegations from the UN, from Israeli and foreign human rights groups, from journalists, rather than just denounce them, and I likewise suggest that if he thinks there's nothing to them he should allow Red Cross visits to imprisoned Palestinians.
I love how everyone is appalled at the very concept of arresting the President of Israel, like we didn’t black-bag the President of Venezuela earlier this year.
Trump Wants to Cancel Us. We’re Not Backing Down
Me, @ZoeAlexandra_ok & @BrianBeckerDC address the Republican-led congressional attack on @BTnewsroom and put it in the context of red scares throughout history:

Now that over 8 million people have liked Mamdani’s video on Instagram and more than 72 million have viewed it on X just within a day, presenting information that we have been sharing for over a thousand days, and stating a conclusion that countless scholars reached months ago, what comes next?
What action are you taking? Is a “like” enough? Seriously, what is your plan?
Imagine that you and your family, God forbid, were trapped beneath the rubble of your home, or your children were trapped in a burning classroom. You posted desperately, asking for help. Minutes passed. Then an hour. Your neighbors liked your post, left prayers in the comments, and went on with their day.
How would you feel?
Wouldn’t you expect them to come to your rescue? And if they could not, wouldn’t you expect them to force the authorities to do their job?
So what have you done to make your authorities do their job regarding Palestine? What have you done to pressure them to intervene and stop the killing of families? Or rather, what have you done to demand that they stop sending bombs to Israel?
Ask yourself these questions every single damn day. Do something!

A 58 year old Swiss man is able to come to Ottawa and attend the CANSEC arms fair, and yell “I’m a fucking racist and I’m proud of it”, and punch a 21 year old Palestinian woman down to the ground, without any meaningful accountability. Appalling decision.

One of my best friends, a brilliant multidisciplinary audio artist & software developer, is looking for work. She's a Turkish member of the LGBTQ community and a fierce Palestine ally as well. If you're in those industries, please check out her resume https://t.co/qpBnIYuXyX
BreakThrough News is under attack.
The House Ways and Means Committee has made us the target of its latest witch hunt. We're not going down without a fight.
Go to https://t.co/bxIcoZjLNr and:
1- Add your name to the petition calling on the House Ways and Means Committee to stop muzzling the press and drop its disgraceful investigation against BreakThrough News.
2-Make a donation now to help us fight back against these disgraceful attacks. We have retained legal counsel and intend to fight these unconstitutional attacks, and we’ll need all the resources we can get. We’re not just fighting for self-preservation – this is about protecting our movement and right to practice journalism.
For years, Republican lawmakers have painted a target on our backs, falsely claiming that our political views and reporting are part of some foreign plot.
Now, the MAGA-dominated House Ways and Means Committee has issued us a subpoena – demanding internal communications, financial records and more. Make no mistake, this is a flagrant abuse of power, and a direct attack on our work as journalists and on the First Amendment generally.
That’s why we’re asking you to speak out with us. We will not stop our work or fall silent in the face of clear right-wing political intimidation. We know the only rights we have are the ones we are willing to defend, and we need your support.
BreakThrough News is a nonprofit newsroom, which already complies with all tax, audits and public reporting requirements. We are not charged with any crime, because our only “crime” has been to tell the truth – by covering the activities of the Palestine solidarity movement, unmasking the truth of ICE’s terror in our streets, and exposing Washington’s crimes around the world, from Cuba to the Congo.
That’s the journalism they want to shut down. Their goal is to saddle us with legal proceedings and hostile media to drain our resources and stop this important work. They know our budget is microscopic compared to the giant billionaire-funded media corporations that dominate the airwaves.
Our most important source of funding comes from our viewers and supporters, and we haven’t received a dime from any foreign institutions or states. This is a political witch-hunt against independent media, pure and simple. It isn’t just an attack on us. It’s an attack on all independent media and the very principles of freedom of the press – from the very politicians who campaigned on the basis of “defending free speech.”
Just got another strike on my IG account because I posted this photo of Ayo Edebiri in an anti AI t shirt. Meta claims it violated their policy on eating disorders or self harm. My account is now downranked (again!) and ppl under 18 can’t view my content. I fucking hate Meta
I signed a petition telling Prime Minister Mark Carney and Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture Marc Miller to respect the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and its curatorial independence.
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights recently opened Palestine Uprooted: Nakba Past and Present, an exhibition examining Palestinian history, culture, displacement and lived experience. The exhibition offers Canadians an important opportunity to learn about the Nakba and its continuing impact on Palestinians in Canada and around the world.
Since its opening, the museum and its leadership have faced organized campaigns demanding political intervention, public condemnation and institutional consequences. Elected officials, including Minister of Canadian Heritage Marc Miller, have also commented on the exhibition’s content, which has raised serious concerns about political pressure on a publicly funded museum and the independence of its curators, researchers, advisors, and staff.
People have every right to debate or criticize an exhibition. But politicians and pressure groups should not decide which histories Canadians are permitted to encounter or pressure museums to alter, discredit or distance themselves from professionally curated work.
This issue extends beyond one exhibition. Public museums must be able to present difficult and contested histories honestly, thoughtfully and according to evidence and professional standards.
Join me in signing the petition here: https://t.co/sW0Xmto3eL
Native Americans are protesting after ICE detained 4 Oglala Sioux tribal members in Minneapolis.
The original Americans are getting treated like “illegal aliens” by masked federal agents.
