@RichardMoglen@PradeepBonde The challenge is asking EG something he hasn’t answered a hundred times. I’d be most interested in understanding his options strategy on the first Facebook EP which may have been his most profitable; if he bought them on day of EP, if so how far OOTM and how far until expiry?
@sandyboy1112@PradeepBonde Unknown but he’s maybe the best technical, precision day trader ever. Not exaggerating. Used to keep up with his posts on Stockbee and at the time he was consistently putting up 100%+ per month returns using options, I think while also working outside of trading.
I will forever be fascinated by the fact that EG - a pioneer in momentum trading - freely gives away strategies that when appropriately applied can make a disciplined trader highly successful…yet so few find that success consistently.
Yes. Entering in anticipation gives you the gap gains.
This is why I run my anticipation scans looking for tight days around 3.30 and if I find a stock setting up for breakout I buy it in last 2 minutes before the market close. Next day it breaks out you can move your stop to break even and trade is free.
If it does not break, I can close for tiny loss of small profits.
Again this is tactics to front run a possible breakout which you know other participants will enter on confirmation.

@whocaresld7i@Jamilmuna I was in Marios’ second cohort. If you follow me or open your DM’s I’ll share some helpful info on situational awareness if you’re interested.
@CFlanders7 Christian would love your perspective on holding through volatility vs holding too long.
I’m still in a bit of shock at the size of KQ’s drawdown, esp given his extensive experience with mean reversion and parabolic short setups.
@TAfyren@Qullamaggie Vague response here but well beyond previous highs and, based on previous price action, will hold as much as I can until it provides a parabolic short entry.
What’s yours?
I would go back and see why am I not in winning positions. What in my process/strategy/rules prevented me from getting in winners. Did I not take signals that triggered? Did I exit randomly with no exit signal? Or did my system not trigger any entries. Or is there no system at all/limited system.
If I did not take triggered signals, the answer is obvious. You must take triggered signals regardless of how you feel. If you struggle with this, reduce trading size until there is no hesitation. If that requires you to go to one share then so be it.
If you are exiting randomly with no exit signal, you lack conviction in your system. You need to spend more time going back over past winners in your system and see what kind of volatility the names will go through on their journey higher.
If the system did not trigger any entries you need to re-build your system to make sure you are getting triggers in leaders during market rallies with clear entry rules.
If there is no/limited system, you must create one or you will always struggle with all the emotions that come with trading because you are trading on your "gut". All the issues I mentioned will make it impossible to perform at a high level.
@TAfyren@Qullamaggie Bullish. Really like how it’s maintaining tightness within this range given overall sector volatility. A moderate catalyst could ignite this.
