#gratuity is 100% tax-free with no upper monetary limit for central & state govt.
Y its is capped at 20lakhs for pvt sector employees?
Y this biased law evn exists 2day?
Pvt employees have no social security if they laid off, no min monetary support frm govt despite paying taxes
Out of all the tax Modi Govt added, the most Stupid and funny tax was introduction to surcharge of 10% over 50L taxable income.
Before 2014, the 10% surcharge was on Income above 1 crore. But Modi Govt in 2017 started the 10% surcharge from 50L income only.
So, basically Modi Govt changed the definition of rich from 1 crores income to 50L income only while claiming that in his Govt more people are getting richer. If more people are getting richer then tax should be reduced not increased 🥲
And funny part is, If you adjust Inflation then 1cr in 2014 is equivalent to 2cr in 2026 and Surcharge is at 50L now. So Modi Govt called you rich at 1/4th income so that they can tax you more.
If you can't make people rich, lower the bar to be called rich and tax them. Modi Mantra.
If a software engineer in Bangalore earns an annual package of ₹50 LPA, over the last five years, they would have paid approximately ₹30 lakhs in income tax.
Now, if they lose their job due to sudden layoffs, they receive nothing no freebies, no subsidies until they find another job.
In many developed countries, taxpayers have access to Social Security: if someone loses their job, they receive financial support or unemployment benefits until they are employed again.
India, despite being a large socialist-leaning nation, provides little to nothing for those who pay taxes.
Instead, the government continues distributing free electricity, water, bus travel, or schemes like Ladli Bahen, benefiting those who don’t contribute as much in taxes.
Sad reality of India.
Nobody is trained for any emergency in India. We need PMETP (Public Medical Emergency Training Program).
Where youth and anyone interested can register for 1 day CPR with AED and First Aid training.
It shall be offered at a subsidized price in some local center in every area.
India needs millions of first aid and emergency trained citizens. @PMOIndia@HMOIndia@MoHFW_INDIA@JPNadda@narendramodi
Couldn't agree more
STEM folks have a very narrow world view - solve real problems, get paid for it
Exposure to humanities helps expand that view so much & you learn you can coast through life adding no value, hectoring others & getting paid to not be disruptive

@dmuthuk GCCs aren’t high paying it’s basically an ODC model to be sold off later to Indian IT. They come to outsource mundane tasks at cheap cost and not trying to to do R&D
@TITTUCOOL Wasn’t this intended to be a liquidity event for desperate farmers to fund their lifestyle needs like marriage, children’s education without taking loans and then committing suicide.Better ask farmers if they want it changed rather than armchair critics.
@DKShivakumar Medical college should have come up in Kundapura/ Baindoor belt. Puttur is so close to Mangalore and Kodagu which both have Govt medical colleges. Udupi District being 3rd highest GDP in KA doesn’t have a medical or engineering college.
🚨Harsh Reality :
> 45 years old
> Working at Oracle for years
> Kids still in school
> Paying off a home loan every month
> Wife and parents financially dependent on him
> Got fired over an email at 6 AM
He paid 50-60% in taxes his entire life,
yet there isn't a single government helpline
he can call for support.
Welcome to India - where there's no safety net
or support system for IT employees
once they're terminated.
This is genuinely concerning.
Other Industries:
Captain Gopinath’s biopic - Suriya (Tamil)
Shakuntala Devi’s biopic - Vidya Balan (Hindi)
MS Subbulakshmi’s biopic - Rashmika (Tamil)
Meanwhile, in Kannada cinema:
Dandupalya
Salaga - Silent Sunila
Bheema
Chakravarthy - Muthappa Rai
City Lights
When other industries are making films on inspiring personalities and extraordinary real life stories, our Kannada industry, once known for historical films and adaptations of great novels, is now busy glorifying third class chapri rowdies.

While scrolling LinkedIn, I came across a post from someone recently laid off from Oracle.

> these guys will tax your Severance pay even if you lose your job.
> These guys will tax you even if you make loss in stock market using STT
> These guys will make provision to charge even UPI using MDR.
But what they can't find is - income history of people driving Fortuners, Scorpio and Thar on road, buying multiple properties but never paid a single rupee income tax.
Being a private-sector employee in the tax-paying bracket is probably the most punished demographic in India 🥲
Pay direct tax when you earn, indirect tax when you spend, save for your own retirement, constantly upskill to survive AI-driven job disruption and then get taxed at every step, even on severance when you lose your job.
Only air and water used to be free. Now the air is unbreathable for 9 months a year, and you need a water purifier to drink the water.

2 mins silence of India's middle class who is being Taxed when it earns, taxed when it spends, charged when it saves and billed when it moves 🤡
Modi has done phenomenal work in promoting Tamil and Tamil culture over the last 12 years. Yet, Tamil Nadu continues to snub him electorally.
As a Tamil, my humble request to him: perhaps it is time to stop investing so much political capital here. If 12 years of cultural outreach hasn’t translated into electoral dividends, another few years probably won’t either.
Maybe Karnataka and Kannada deserve his attention from here on.
If I were Modi, I would have gifted Putin Pampa’s Adi Purana, hosted him with the magnificent Hoysala architecture as the backdrop, and served him a plate of benne masala dosa.
Kannada diplomacy may work better and Kannadigas are the most welcoming people in the south as well!
@abhibagalkot@prathoshap 90% don’t learn for some sort of enlightenment (Aha moments) - degrees and higher education was a means to get a better paying jobs. When that outcome is gone fundamental questions like this will be asked for which we don’t have answers yet.
