🚨 BREAKING: @nytimes releases video filmed by a paramedic later found executed in a mass grave with 14 other Palestinian rescue workers during a humanitarian mission in Rafah, after an attack by IOF soldiers. The mission was pre-coordinated with the International Red Cross.
All victims were members of the Palestinian Civil Defense and Red Crescent.
The video shows a convoy of ambulances and a fire truck with headlights and emergency lights on, heading toward northern Rafah at dawn. They stop to check on another ambulance, previously dispatched to aid wounded civilians, that had come under attack.
Rescue workers exit their vehicles, then a barrage of gunshots can be seen and heard hitting the convoy for five minutes (not included in the video). The paramedic prays repeatedly, then says:
“Forgive me, mother. This is the path I chose—to help people. God is great.”
The voices of aid workers and soldiers shouting commands in Hebrew are heard in the background.
The Palestinian Red Crescent says the paramedic filming was found with a bullet in his head in a mass grave, along with 14 others. Their crushed ambulances were buried nearby.
Forensic examiner Dr. Ahmad Dhair reports most victims had multiple gunshot wounds to the head, chest, and limbs.
The footage directly refutes israel’s claim that the ambulances were “advancing suspiciously” without lights or signals, and that 9 of those killed were “Palestinian militants.” The video clearly shows unarmed medics in marked uniforms posing no threat.
One Red Crescent member remains missing, and israel has not confirmed whether he is detained or killed.
This incident is the deadliest single attack on Red Cross and Red Crescent workers globally since 2017.
It has now been 30 days with NO humanitarian aid getting into Gaza.
No food, no water, no medicine, no fuel.
That is barbaric. The U.S. must end our complicity in these atrocities.
I'm forcing votes in the Senate to block the sale of $8.8 billion in heavy bombs to Israel.
We must not be complicit in the destruction of Gaza. History won't forgive us.
Every Senator who supports the rule of law should vote for these resolutions. https://t.co/sgEHUyagYh
Netanyahu's illegal war has killed 50,000 Palestinians. Now, Trump wants to force out 2 million more to build a billionaire's playground in Gaza.
That is ethnic cleansing — and it’s a war crime.
Next week, I will force votes to block $8.8 billion in new arms sales to Israel.
During an interview with CNN, Mustafa Barghouti, the secretary-general of the Palestinian Initiative, said that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar “one more time has failed the Israelis.”
If the DNA test confirms that Yahya Sinwar is dead, it also confirms that he was not hiding under tunnels and was killed in active combat.
This was not a targeted assassination, and proves that it was always about Israel flattening Gaza and killing maximum number of civilians.
Israel made the mistake of publishing footage of Yahya Sinwar's last moments.
Wearing a kufiyyeh and severely injured, he threw a stick at the drone filming him – a final act of defiance against the Zionist occupation.
In his death, he became a legend.
I won’t vote for an AIPAC candidate. A foreign country has bought off so many of our politicians they now control our foreign policy, have marched us into wars, and have successfully lobbied for numerous censorship laws. Since both Trump and Kamala are AIPAC candidates (Trump more than Harris) I won’t be voting for either of them. It’s really that simple.
Israeli Military is routinely sexually assaulting Palestinian detainees. Human rights org B’Tselem released a report “Welcome to Hell”, exposing the Israeli prison system as “a network of torture camps.”
This is Israeli policy, supported by the public at large. This is Zionism.
Out of over 100 civilians that Israel cold-bloodedly killed, they singled out 19 and falsely claimed they were Hamas members. Four of them were from the Jaabari family, whom I personally know—they never engaged in any political or military activities. Another was an imam, one was my neighbor from the Habib family who had a serious dispute with Hamas, and a university professor from the Kahlout family who never participated in any political work.
Israel lives on lies.
Israel targeted Hamas leaders in Tehran and Beirut without killing civilians. They blew up an apartment and a car on a busy street with no civilian casualties fearing an escalation. Don’t ever believe they can’t do the same in Gaza. They are deliberately massacring Palestinians.
I condemn in the strongest possible terms the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the Political Bureau Chairman of the Hamas resistance movement.
This was a murder of the most heinous kind, plainly designed to derail ongoing talks aimed at ending the carnage in Gaza that has claimed over 40,000 lives. It is patently clear that this could only have been carried out in an environment of utter impunity.
Only the heedless and unconscionable will not see the need to intensify pressure on Israel to stop their murderous rampage.
I am deeply concerned about what this tragedy would mean for the Palestinian people, who have been already been so cruelly subjected to so much pain, hardship and suffering for so many decades.
Detractors who have criticised me for meeting with Ismail Haniyeh in the past, fail to appreciate Haniyeh’s profound desire for a peaceful Middle East and a Palestinian nation restored to its rightful dignity.
I mourn the loss of a dear friend and a valiant advocate for his people. Al-Fatihah.
