@GraceRomano20 @psyc220 I agree! I also want to start a family in the future, and it is important to me that I am able to teach my kids right from wrong in the sense so they can make the world a better place than the way they found it. #CD7 @psyc220
@MeganHutcheson7 @psyc220 I agree! As a future parent myself, I also want to take my kids to protests and make sure they volunteer so that they do not remain complicit in the face of discrimination and injustice #CD7 @psyc220
@psyc220 encourage or expect their kids to speak out and/or act against systems of oppression. As a parent, I will teach my children about racism and other forms of oppression and seek opportunities for us to do activism as a family. #CD7 @psyc220 (2/2)
@psyc220 #CD7 A major goal of mine is to become a parent. Parents often reinforce systems of oppression by passing biases and opinions to their kids, and by enabling complacency among their families. This adds to interpersonal and systemic oppression since many parents don't(1/2)
@zigsolosakss @psyc220 Thank you for bringing this to my attention! Transphobia and racism are still as pervasive of an issue in today's society as it was in the 1980s! It is important as ever to combat the these ideologies where we see them. #CD6 @psyc220
@mika_walker19 @psyc220 Thank you for sharing!! People really need to pay more attention to how SES and race intersect. They are not independent of one another. @psyc220 #CD6
@psyc220 #CD6 an intersection that interests me is the one of antisemitism and SES. Many people believe that all Jews are rich, and that is not true. To many ppl, the belief that all jews are rich and have control over money justifies the atrocities committed against them.
#CD5b @psych220 One of Youngkin's campaign policies is restricting access to abortion. This creates barriers for women who don't want to have a child for a variety of reasons. For women with disabilities, giving birth may be destructive, and policies like this further this harm.
#220Ethics @psyc220 This is tweet is making an ethical appeal to the ethic of autonomy, as Manchin's stated goal is to avoid harm by providing better recovery services to addicts.
Last year alone, we lost 1,373 West Virginians to drug related overdoses. Itโs our responsibility to provide our family, friends and neighbors with the support and recovery services they need and deserve.

@esullivan106 @psyc220 Wow! I never even thought of that! Thank you for sharing. There definitely needs to be more accessibility on campus for the deaf community. Thank you for raising awareness of this issue! @psyc220 #CD5b
@taylorking2023 @psyc220 Hi, thank you for the reply! Those were my thoughts exactly. Maybe if ICS were more accessible/ less crowded, this would be less of a problem. Even with that, there would still be a long way to go. @psyc220 #CD5a
@psyc220 #cd5a The way campus is laid out creates barriers for ppl w physical disabilities. The buildings are very spread out, and there are also a lot of steep hills and stairs which would make it hard for a wheelchair user to get around efficiently on their own.
@kaylashepard_ @psyc220 Thank you for sharing, Kayla. This image definitely comes across to me as problematic, as it plays off the assumption that ppl w disabilities are less capable/ competent than their able-bodied peers. In reality, that assumption is not accurate. #cd5a @psyc220
@Kherz247 @psyc220 Thank you! I think that if more people understood that gender exists along a continuum, there would be less apprehension to non-traditional gender identities and expressions, and more acceptance across the board. #CD4 @psyc220
@psyc220 #CD4 Feminism is essential to ending gender-based discrimination. I also believe that solidarity amongst all genders and races is a necessary catalyst to ending oppression. This can be built through education of the oppression non-privileged genders face regularly, (1/2)
@maddie_leckert @psyc220 Thank you for your reply! If the gender spectrum was better understood across the board, than people would be able to lead more authentic lives as well. #CD4 @psyc220
