@sporadica@anart1c Because Sam will never DISPLAY proof, and BEYOND that GPT is CLEARLY trained on MILLIONS of copyrighted data.
So if training on Scarlett’s voice is “illegal” in YOUR OWN WORDS, then shouldn’t the ENTIRETY of chatGPT be illegal?!?
@minchoi Like half of these are direct violations of IP. If you can’t filter out copyrighted content when making a model, don’t make a fucking model. The lawsuits are only justtttt beginning for these AI grifters
@schmoc@_Borriss_ @kaimcd27 @sama Legally they are INTENTIONALLY mimicking her likeness. They absolutely have a case.
It’s not the same as if a random VO used a similar voice to Scarlett, this is an instance where her voice has iconic cultural meaning.
It’s like if a toy mask company used a darth Vader voice
@_Borriss_ @kaimcd27 @sama Not really, when you factor in the “her” tweet and Altman actually reaching out, it is clear that they had intentions for it to sound like Scarlett, when they were denied they simply mimicked her voice which is plain as day in the demo.
It is intentional copying of her likeness
@curiousgangsta@kimmonismus I’m not against AI intact I’ve even built my own models before. But this “Wild West” take any content that’s publicly available mindset is going to absolutely destroy so many of these AI startups.
OAI is atleast smart enough to start licensing its data
@curiousgangsta@kimmonismus Bro the CEO of the company in question DIRECTLY mentioned the film that their voice engine is mimicking.
It doesn’t matter what the intent of the tweet was, it’s clear they are more then aware of what they are doing and deserve to get the full force of the law
@curiousgangsta@kimmonismus Bro she has a case regardless, they are CLEARLY attempting to mimic her likeness, Sam Altman tweeting “her” was the nail in the coffin.
The voice is almost identical, there are plenty of times to that voice and AI, and the film was directly mentioned by the CEO. Lawsuit 💯💯💵💵
@tegmark Okay so if you’re so sure it’s gonna do all tasks. What about, design bio engineered weapons, create a virus, shut down a nations electric grid, teach the making of nuclear weapons, hacking into banks.
But your SURE those won’t happen right??
AI is nothing but poison
@futuristflower I don’t get why AI bros like you feel so entitled to new tech NOW that you’d sacrifice safety. You can wait a fucking year for new software upgrades to ensure safety good fucking lord y’all are babies
@kimmonismus Bye bye?? You really are ushering in the collapse of the economy/civilization just so “mOdEl pErfOrM gOoD” a year faster???
I can wait another year or two for advancements so long as they’re safe.
Are u really so spoiled you’d risk lives just so you can have a better LLM??
@BenPielstick@futuristflower So not that openAI is anything like terminator, but if AGI was to truly exist, why would it care about us?? It would be so advanced and self aware it would think of us the same way WE think of bugs, or chickens, or cows.
It wouldn’t matter if we suffered as long as it progressed.
@futuristflower Have you ever touched C++? Python?? GitHub for fucksake??
You clearly know nothing other then OpenAI hype, every single post you make is either excusing OpenAIs lack of progress or enflaming OpenAIs mediocrity.
They’ve hit a wall deal with it.
@danfaggella I don’t think so. I think part of what makes a relationship meaningful is knowing that someone else who is actually sentient and exists loves you for who you are via their own free will. I don’t want to be loved because code tells a robot too.
@KewkD@Jfields_217 So your only like 15% right. Sure you could “still have a job” but it would pay 50% less, and the demand for it is going to be infinitely small due to the extremely fast nature of it.
Even outside of art, AI is going to CRUSH the economy. It’s taking money away from working class
