I sail with Ra. Ra is light, Ra is hope. Ra sees everything, even in darkness. He is the sun that rises again. Ra is not angry, he is curious. We sail to face Apep, the chaos serpent. The barque leaves at dusk and there are empty seats. Come.
@0xdasha@ukhomeoffice "PoliceAI, there are stolen goods behind a door, but we knocked and no one is answering. What should we do? Is it ok if we just go back to the station? Our shift is ending soon and..."
Governments cannot meaningfully cut spending in representative democracies (to the extent required to curb debt if growth rate falls below real interest rate).
Look for the concept of fiscal dominance and how interest rate can be decoupled from broad money supply. Your assumptions about interest rate, private debt and inflation no longer hold when the public debt dominates everything else.
I already acknowledged that you are right that huge debt is not a problem if it does not translate into inflation. But, it is like saying that you do not have to worry about running with your eyes closed because you cannot fall until you reach the cliff.
@tarunchitra I think that a lot of people in academia/research (incl. crypto) could build something valuable, but are scared to do so. Self-confidence issue. They don't see themselves as builders, so they fall-back to research or whatever.
@zachxbt Not sure what you mean brah. I sold to a willing seller at a price. Prices could be higher and then I would be called a dumb ass. I just happened to call it right this time as it regards to my trading goals.
@satorinakamoto@lex_node@8bitpenis It's just one of those case where crypto people are rediscovering basic legal frameworks that have existed for hundreds of years (as there also was a lot of rediscovering basic tradfi scheme around 2021).
I wrote that value has to be sufficiently high for security. The point you both miss is that adoption because "number go up" is meaningless if it means holding Eth on a cex or etf. If adoption does not use/benefit from the properties of the permissionless and censorship resistant computer, ethereum brings nothing of value to the world other than another lottery to bet on. Eth price go up is not the target to aim for, neither is more casino players.
What???
I use a vpn because :
- tax website and other gov website are geoblocked, so I can't access them when abroad (even if I'm legally required to access them)
- fix ip that I need to access my remote servers (my isp doesn't provide that)
- encryption of http and other non encrypted trafic, especially on public wifi
- when abroad, unlocking language that my kid speak on streaming services like Disney+
- hiding my location from my bank because as a crypto worker I've been debanked in the past and want to give them less reason to do it again
- because I don't want to reveal my location and ip to everyone I interact with, and show every website I visit to my isp or public wifi
The reason Eth exists is to secure the network (via legacy pow rewards and now pos mechanic). It is not designed to necessarily appreciate in value or pay dividends other than what is strictly required to secure the network. If some people made up something about Eth being anything else that this, it is a creation of their mind and we should not pay attention to it insofar as giving credibility to these narratives could detract us from Eth only purpose.
@SweCryptoLawyer@TrustlessState If ethereum was gaining massive worldwide adoption, and was used to liberate people from government and corporate digital tyranny - but somehow the eth price tanked to all-time lows and stayed that way (20$/eth). To you, would the project be a success or a failure?
@alexklinger@tom777kruise You are so right. You are a non-conformist rebel, a revolutionary in plain clothes. You see the real evil in this world like hedge funds, greedy billionaires and big tech - a rare take. Keep it up, we need more original thinkers like you!
