If the material that's surfacing from the Google antitrust proceedings has shown us anything, it's that web2 companies didn't necessarily engage in unethical practices because they were evil. Their original intentions were genuinely virtuous.

Participants no longer receive tokens for contributing to the network meaning they no have any upside exposure to the network's success. This was done to the benefit of token holders by remove distribution sell pressure.
