Here is my initial assessment of the current events in Syria:
THE BIGGEST LOSERS:
1- All the minorities in Syria: Christians, Kurds, Alawites, Ismailis, etc.
The "Resistance" is professing that they will represent all Syrians. In reality, the main forces are Al Qaida and its affiliates. Whatever "Secular" forces there are, if any, can be swept aside by the Islamists in a New York minute. And once the situation stabilizes, they eventually will.
Assad was bad, but these guys are going to make Assad look like an Angel.
Most 3rd world countries, but particularly the Middle East need strongmen to rule and bring stability. The best that you can wish for is secular dictators who would protect the minorities.
2- Syria: Chances are high that Syria will splinter into 4 different entities; Alawites might declare their independence in their historical coastal area. The Kurds might do the same in the East & the Northeast. The Druze in the South with the border of Israel, with the encouragement and support of Israel, as the Golan Heights' Druze are an integral part of the Israeli military and are historical allies, even if it has been mostly overt. The rest of the country will be a Sunni enclave, with a high possibility of it being very “friendly” to Jihadi groups.
3- The Arab Gulf States: Their hatred of the Arab secular socialist regimes such as Saddam & Assad blinded them to the fact that the alternative is not something to wish for. Now the entire Levant is divided between Turkey & Iran. Congratulations to the Gulf Arabs who thought they can get rid of Saddam & Assad and still have the upper hand.
4- Iran & Hezbollah: The geographical link between Iran and Hezbollah, through Iraq & Syria, has been severed. Any kind of weapons transfers has to be by air or sea, which will be easier for Israel to monitor & intercept.
5- The United States: This will initially be chalked up as a win by the Neocons, State Dept., and the Intelligence Services. But like all our previous wins (Afghanistan after the Soviet withdrawal, Iraq after our "liberation", etc.), this will come back to haunt us with a vengeance. I'm not sure yet if we operate our foreign policy based on ignorance or a deeper plan by the IC to have constant chaos overseas for reasons of control & disruption. I suspect the latter.
6- Russia: Their only bases outside of Russia is in Syria. The only way they can maintain them is if the Alawites form their own enclave, but they would still have lost an important ally and access to other parts of the country.
7- The Palestinians: Having been sold out by the rest of the Arab world, specially the Gulf States, the Palestinians' only real diplomatic advocate in the Arab world was Syria. The rest were just paying lip service. They are totally on their own now.
THE BIGGEST WINNERS:
1- Turkey: The whole operation was planned and executed with the help of Turkey. For the past 14 tears, Turkey has provided intelligence, weapons, training, logistics, safe havens, and medical support to the “Rebels”. Countries are NOT charities and everyone in the “resistance” knows who they have been taking orders from, and who they will continue to take orders from, unless they want another rebellion to replace the replacers.
2- Israel: The weakening and possible splintering of Syria will remove the final possible threat on Israel’s border. Egypt, Jordan and the Gulf States have reconciled with it. Lebanon is really not a threat, and now Syria has been dismantled. Contrary to what has been circulating, Israel has no incentive to take over large parts of Syria. The only expansion would be parts of the Golan so they can extend the buffer zone and possibly control more strategical locations.
3- Worldwide Jihadi Movements: Syria can become a country where the Islamic Jihadi groups could find a receptive country where, at a minimum, they can set up offices and on a best-case scenario, become a safe haven like Afghanistan was after the withdrawal of the Soviet Union.

@bluelivesmtr "The fact that this officer targeted a retired federal LEO ... makes this even more unacceptable".
I was encouraged by your stance until I read the above. This sentence right here is problematic.
THERE SHOULD BE NO SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR ANY CLASS OF PEOPLE, SPECIALLY LEOs.
@BreannaMorello She did a great community service.
When the government enacted unconstitutional mandates (forced vaccination), she provided a helping hand to the oppressed.
“Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God.”
– Benjamin Franklin
@EndWokeness No need to mention the color of the perpetrators. Even Stevie Wonder can see who they are.
Crime & black in the same sentence is redundancy.
@BestShvili@wana_visualss BestShvili, she is Shia’ Muslim, which means drawing pictures of people, to include Jesus, Mary, or even their own Imams Hassan & Hussein are not forbidden or stigmatized.
It’s different than Sunni Muslims.
@WallStreetApes Going after the employers who knowingly hire illegals will exponentially increase self-deportation, but you have to jail these employers, CEOs, & board members.
Only fining them is considered a cost of doing business.
@ThomasSowell Yes, a lot of hardcore rightists were leftists at one point in time.
That’s why they’re hardcore, cause they’ve been into the abyss and have stared evil in the eyes.
@GPrime85@ThomasEWoods “This knowledge could be yours, if you read the book”.
You’re assuming she can read, because she probably graduated from the “Learing Center”.
@3YearLetterman@snorman1776@WaffleHouse@MillerLite “Belgian “beer” is inferior to crisp American domestics like Bud Light and Miller Light”.
Light beer is for fags, no matter which country produces it.
@dalepartridge Yeah, but it would lower home prices, which would piss off the boomers.
Trump would rather increase illegal aliens than deport them, just so the housing market doesn't crash.
