उद्विग्न झालेले काही नागरिक, कशासाठी हे करताय ? , परवानगी दाखवा, म्हणून विचारात होते. पण ज्या नदीकाठच्या झाडांचा त्यांच्या नेत्यांनीच सौदा करून टाकलाय, प्रशासनाने रीतसर परवानगी देऊन टाकलीय आणि मेहेरबान कोर्टाने हात वर केलेले आहे, नागरिकांनी विचारलेल्या त्यांच्या या प्रश्नावर, रोजंदारीवर कामाला आलेले कामगार तरी काय उत्तर देणार ?

सत्ताधाऱ्यांचे निर्णय, प्रशासनाची परवानगी आणि यंत्रणेची उदासीनता यांच्यात नदीकाठची झाडे एकेक करून कोसळत आहेत. आणि शहराचा श्वास असलेली ही झाडे ट्रकभर ओंडक्यांमध्ये भरली जात आहेत.
