Eggs were missing from noon meals in schools across several Tamil Nadu districts on Friday, reportedly due to a communication lapse between officials. Teachers said it was the first such incident they had witnessed in 15 years. Students in Tiruchy, Karur, Namakkal, Erode, Salem, Tirunelveli and Nagapattinam were affected, while alternative arrangements were made in some districts. Teachers urged officials to ensure uninterrupted egg supply.

Chennai’s Anna Nagar 2nd Avenue, which had beautiful and walkable pavements than many other parts of city was dug up in Jan with a promise to make the 3km stretch flood-free.

Eight months later, the ₹17cr stormwater drain project remains incomplete, poorly executed or abandoned at several spots.

Residents now fear the flood-prevention project could worsen monsoon flooding. 🧵
