"The whole world is starting to see how daggum good of a QB he is right now...He's a big reason we sit here at 3-1 rolling into MAC play."
@toledofb HC Mike Jacobs on QB John Alan Ritcher
I want to first thank the Lord for this amazing opportunity and all His many blessings. I am extremely excited and grateful to announce that I am committing to play baseball at High Point University. I would also like to thank my parents for all of their support and dedication.
“It’s uncommon at every level … the selflessness that they’ve had in a world that’s really selfish.”
A powerful message from @OU_Baseball HC Skip Johnson:
I’M WRITING THIS IN CAPS SINCE I’M YELLING AT BASE RUNNERS & BASE RUNNING COACHES AT EVERY LEVEL. STOP GETTING DOUBLED ON LINE DRIVES IN THE INFIELD. WE HAVE CUED IT INCORRECTLY & REPPED IT POORLY FOR YEARS.
1) ACTUALLY “GO BACK ON LINE DRIVES.”
2) MOST IMPORTANTLY YOU MUST
A Pitcher in 2025 hits 94 mph...
A Pitcher in 1992 hits 85 mph...
Because of how radar guns changed the finish line, both pitchers threw the exact speed.
It's one of the greatest optical illusions in sport.
What is the single most important aspect of Arm Development & Injury Prevention?
1) THROWING.
Period.
There isn't a close second.
And it's not "just" throwing.
It's consistent Volume Throwing (Conditioning).
Conditioning = Health, Durability & Strength

Dean Smith said, "A coach's job is to be part servant in helping each player reach his goals within the team concept.”
Great leaders believe they serve the team.
• They care
• They develop others.
• They believe in others.
The core of servant leadership is wanting to see others at their best.
Leadership isn't about receiving anything from your team, but being there to give to your team.
How to Be a Better Servant Leader:
1. Commit to Others - Servant leadership starts with a deep commitment to the growth and well-being of others. It centers on understanding and support, not just in people's roles but them as individuals. Learn their goals and desires. Think about how you can help people reach their professional and life goals.
2. Build Relationships and a Sense of Community - It shouldn't just be about yourself, but it should be about the team. Create an environment where everyone feels valued and connected. You should have a great attitude, be collaborative, and work together. Empower them, love them, and care for them.
3. Lead by Example - As a leader, responsibility and ownership starts with you. You are the model for the team's outcomes, good and bad. You set the standard and lead by example showing the everyone the importance of learning and growth. Setting a positive example promotes a high standard of ethics and professionalism within the team, inspiring others to emulate these behaviors.
4. Be Emotionally Intelligent - Understanding and managing your emotions, as well as empathizing with others, is key. It’s not just about doing things, it’s about understanding why and how. Implement this by being self-aware, regulating your responses, and showing genuine care and understanding for your team's feelings and perspectives.
5. Steer the Ship - While servant leadership emphasizes support, it also requires guiding your team towards the right direction. Lead with clarity and vision. To implement this, set clear goals, provide the necessary resources, and make informed decisions that align with the team's objectives and values.
"Leadership is not about being in charge. Leadership is about taking care of those in your charge." - Simon Sinek

I believe Youth baseball (let’s call it everything under 16u) is very distinctively divided into Two Groups or Parties if you will.
1) parents of the early bloomer.
2) parents of the late bloomer.
If there is a “Independent” party it would be the early bloomer parents with a clue. )maybe played themselves or have older son who played)
These people feel the way they feel based on their experience up to that point. They will never agree because they see things through polar opposites lenses most of the time because their kids experiences are so different.
“Look Doctor I’ve got no experience doing high end surgery whatsoever, BUT I wanted to tell you I’ve been watching a ton of surgery videos, and reading up on Web md and while your surgeries have been successful, you e been doing it wrong the whole time.”
That sounds absolutely insane doesn’t it? Lol
The “new” concept of hitting developed out of the everyone gets a trophy movement.
How? Because these guys simply could not accept the fact that they weren’t good at hitting so they invented a “new” way and blamed it on their coaches. 😂😂 these same guy’s parents were in the AD’s office trying to get their HS coach canned.
I’m a huge fan of different ways of wording stuff, creating cues, and teach people slightly differently depending on the individual, but their isn’t a new way to hit, just guys that can’t hit and needed an excuse.
