Equal rights. Equal responsibility. Equal joy. 50/50 #sharedparenting is best for kids, best for feminism.
When it comes to child custody, the courts and traditional thinking presume that children should be with their moms. That’s the legacy of “sexism and misunderstanding of child psychology,” says Johnson. via @TIME@Farnoosh

"Single moms with a 50% split of parenting time with their children’s father are 54% more likely to earn $100,000+ as compared those whose arrangements only included 'visits' with dad, and 325% more likely to earn $100,000 as compared to those who have their children 100%."
"If public policies can normalize the idea that a divorced dad should care for his kids half the time, then maybe that will strengthen the idea that all dads should do half the parenting, which would benefit many families." via @ForbesWomen https://t.co/7yHGeSTlYc
For my fellow shared-parenting activsits, some tools to win:
*Let's agree on one, elegant, memorable message
*No caveats or nuance
*Stick to facts, skip your sad personal story. Sounds suspicious and unprofessional

Very hopeful fo the passage of GA's shared-parenting bill, and grateful for the opportunity to testify in the judiciary committee hearing with brilliant activists and leaders @MelissaIsaak@talk2spirit@dadtalktoday@drwarrenfarrell @JasmineForHD108
"Who is in custody? Prisoners. Who has hours for visitation? Prisoners. — and the suggestion of children as property." Thank you for this @EricZorn at @chicagotribune

Studies find that divorced dads with shared custody can spend more time, and more quality time with their children than married fathers. But, why?

@thelordmarc0 The theory is alienators there now feel cornered, and are more likely to act out. I feel strongly that equally shared parenting is a societal/culture/policy issue, with PA is a personality disorder — very different thing requiring very different solutions 2/
Prediction: Within 10 years, 50/50 time-sharing will be the default for separated/divorced families, and our kids will regard us as our parents regarded their 1960s moms who smoke and drank through pregnancies.
@thelordmarc0 Possibly. I've been in touch with attorneys and therapists in Kentucky, which passed the only real 50/50 parenting law in the US a few years ago — they are seeing that PA cases are on the rise (while all other metrics are very positive) /1
