@ZeeshhDecodes The screen reader comparison is a good way to think about it. If an app works well with VoiceOver it should work for the agent too, and the ones that don't will need their labels fixed first.
This one looks really useful.
Vercel Labs released agent-desktop, a tool that lets a coding agent use apps on your Mac, Windows or Linux machine.
It reads each app through the operating system's accessibility tree, so the agent acts on named buttons and fields with no pixel matching. It runs in the background without moving your mouse, and several agents can work at once.
It's free and open source under Apache 2.0.
The most useful new AI tools go up here every day.
Which desktop app would you hand to an agent first?
What would you never let it touch?
Introducing agent-desktop
agent-browser, for your whole computer
→ Computer Use for any coding agent
→ macOS, Windows and Linux
→ Runs in bg while you keep working
→ Agents use your computer in parallel, each with its own cursor
@RuedanaYT Same thing I was wondering. The README says it works off the accessibility tree with no pixel matching, so an app with missing labels probably just shows up as a pile of unnamed elements. Which apps have you found with labels good enough to try it on?
Y Combinator Labs put 50 AI agents in Minecraft with three hours to build a working civilization.
The first night took 22 of the run's 34 deaths. After that, the agents mostly hid. Their informal leader, Ada, told everyone to idle in lit shelters until they got short tasks.
That's a very human reaction to getting burned.
Would you call that caution or a failure to adapt?
What would you have changed in the setup?
@bookwormengr That 38 dollars per B200 hour has to assume every GPU is busy around the clock. What would you guess real utilization looks like at a brand new site?
@carmenli@AnthropicAI@silicondata Revenue per GPU hour next to cost per GPU hour is the comparison I rarely see. Which one is harder to get real numbers for, utilization or token pricing?
@DynamicWebPaige@composio 1px white text hiding in a vendor email is a sneaky way in. When the firewall flags a tool call, does it block it or ask the person to approve?
@muratcan Started metformin turning into discussed starting metformin is a great example of why edit distance fails. Who sets the severity label, clinicians or a model?
@iamlukethedev Curious what Herald does that the official app probably won't. Is it more about how you reach the agent, or what it can do from your phone?
@zeeg Agents reporting what they expected versus what actually happened sounds more useful than most human bug reports. Does the agent attach the tool call it was running when it failed?
@tejasybhakta Rebuilding for 2 lines is such a waste of an afternoon. Does the agent even see how long the last build took, or does it just not weigh it?
@yatharth170699 Useful breakdown. Evaluator-optimizer is the one I see skipped most, usually because defining clear criteria is the hard part. Which of the five do you reach for first?
@rryssf Breaking the retry loop seems like the most useful piece, since stuck sessions burn budget fast. Does it keep that history per repo only, or can it carry lessons across projects?
