The Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) congratulated Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra, an eminent ophthalmologist from Army Hospital (Research and Referral), for being awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London.
Brigadier Mishra is the only Indian to receive the fellowship this year and the first ophthalmologist from the Armed Forces Medical Services to receive the honour.
He was also awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Ed) by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The award was given to only two ophthalmologists this year, both of whom were Indians, on June 25.
