✨ Don't Let Trauma Define Your Future ✝️
What carried Jesus through the cross wasn't the pain—it was the joy set before Him.
Pain is real.
Trauma is real.
But neither has the final word.
When you have a vision, a purpose, and a promise from God, you can endure what you're going through because you're focused on where God is taking you.
The joy of the Lord gives you strength.
Strength to keep moving.
Strength to keep believing.
Strength to let yesterday's pain pass by without controlling tomorrow's purpose.
Your trauma may be part of your story, but it doesn't have to become your identity.
💭 What are you focusing on: the pain behind you or the purpose ahead of you?
🙌 Comment "JOY" if you're choosing purpose over pain

New paper out! 🧬✨
What started as a short internship by José Luis (now PhD student) in our lab turned into something truly special. We did not imagine at the time that this visit would result in such a beautiful and solid piece of work.
During his internship:
🔬 We sequenced and analyzed the genome of this new Pectobacterium species in our laboratory.
🧫 Using the Institut de biologie intégrative et des systèmes (IBIS), Université Laval microscopy platform, we performed its morphological characterization.
🧪 In collaboration with Dr. Roger C. Levesque’s team, we carried out the biochemical characterization.
🌱 Pathogenicity assays conducted in Mexico by Maria Elena Santos Cervantes & NORMA ELENA Leyva Lopez’s teams, who discovered this isolate and found the first clues that this could be a new species, completed the story.
All of this came together in this new article published in the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology:

A truly international and multidisciplinary collaboration, the kind of science that reminds us why internships and research exchanges matter so much.
And this is not the end… 🚀
We are hoping that another high-impact paper, including many more isolates, will be out soon.
Proud of this team and grateful for the power of collaboration across borders 👏
