@JTLonsdale Your options are higher capital gains and taxing loans on assets once you are worth a certain amount. Or a minimum 3% wealth tax every year on your net assets. If you paid income tax, CG and other taxes worth 2-3% already you don’t pay. If you paid less you balance up.

It appears that the leader of the Green Party, Zack Polanski, does not understand the importance of a free press.

A free press is a vital component of a democratic society — and Britain has a proud history in this regard.

The Green Party leader has now demanded that it is time we “sorted out the press”, citing “misinformation” about the climate.

That sounds rather ominous — and authoritarian.

Despots seek to bring the press to heel when they are unable or unwilling to engage in debate.

This is chilling rhetoric from the leader of a mainstream political party.

But don’t do government owns means of production. It’s a disaster. Because they tell you it will be democratic doesn’t mean it will.
