Strong message from @SecRubio that the Kurds of NE Syria are an important part of Syria.
Great to see SDF Commander @MazloumAbdi and DAANES Foreign Affairs Co-Chair @ElhamAhmadSDC join FM Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani in meeting Sec. Rubio at the Munich Security Conference. #MSC
Today I met with the Foreign Secretary and the Middle East Minister, alongside @perayahmet, @ErginErbil and @SarbazBarznji to speak about the growing sense of abandonment felt by Kurdish communities in Syria who fought bravely to defeat ISIS.
1/
Watching the deteriorating situation in Syria with great concern. The Kurds are under threat from the new Syrian government that is aligned with Turkey.
It would be a disaster for America’s reputation and national security interests to abandon the Kurds, who were the chief ally in destroying the ISIS caliphate.
Therefore, I will be introducing legislation this week designed to impose crippling sanctions on any government or group engaged in hostilities against the Kurds. The Save the Kurds Act, I believe, will receive strong bipartisan support and must have teeth to make it effective.
Stay tuned.
🛑 A MASSIVE INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT has emerged for the Kurdish people who are RESISTING ISIS and the Jolani Islamo-fascists operating through Turkey.✊🏼🔥
🌍 Across the world, grassroots movements, internationals, trade unions, as well as state-level officials and politicians are actively involved.
🛑 Developing within the framework of Abdullah Öcalan's ideological legacy, the international–Kurdish solidarity is POWERFUL and WIDESPREAD!

The Kurds are subject to being wiped out now by Erdogan and the Syrian al-Qaeda leader. Are we just going to leave them without help? They stood with us in fighting ISIS. They took heavy casualties. They are an ALLY.
in London, 40 thousand people showed their supp
ort for the Rojava revolution. They conveyed the message that the genocide must stop and Rojava's autonomy must be recognized.

Tarsus’un Gazipaşa Mahallesi’nde düzenlenen Rojava eyleminin ardından dağılan gençlere yönelik silahlı saldırı gerçekleşti.
Saldırganlardan biri, evinin balkonunda bulunan 24 yaşındaki Kobanêli Baran Abdi’yi hedef alarak başından vurdu. Ağır yaralanan Baran Abdi olay yerinde yaşamını yitirdi.
Is U.S. abandoning the #Kurds in Syria, as we have elsewhere in the region?
Do we really believe we no longer need the Kurds as reliable, battle-tested allies?
Are we siding with what we pray are "reformed" jihadists in Syria?
I stand with the Kurds.
Always have. Always will.

Until today, 5 children have frozen to death as 500,000 civilians endure a siege worse than the ISIS era. Kobane is trapped between two terrorist forces: the Turkish state from the north and the Syrian Army/ISIS from the south. No water. No electricity. No fuel.#StarlinkForRojava
The STG intentional severing of Water, Electricity, and Internet in Kobane points to an impending massacre against Kurds there. This is a violation of International Law
!!!
@UN@UNReliefChief@UNICEF@WHO@WFP@UNOCHA
Four children have frozen to death in Kobane as a direct result of the ongoing siege and attacks on the city.
The assaults carried out by HTS — including the closure of roads and the deliberate cutting of electricity, water, medicine, and fuel — amount to an explicit attempt at collective punishment and destruction.
This siege is not a military confrontation. It is a deliberate, systematic policy targeting civilians. The deaths of children from cold are not collateral damage; they are the foreseeable outcome of a strategy designed to break a population through deprivation.
Silence in the face of these crimes is not neutrality. It is complicity.
We urgently call on international human rights organizations, humanitarian institutions, and all relevant international actors to act immediately:
to break the siege of Kobane,
to ensure humanitarian access,
and to stop these ongoing crimes against humanity.
History will remember who spoke out — and who chose to look away.
Statement: The Damascus Government Is Moving Toward Escalation Despite the Ceasefire
Despite the ceasefire agreement signed between us and the Damascus government, the latter continues, in a systematic manner, its military preparations and field escalation in the Jazira and Kobani regions. Military build-ups and logistical movements have been observed, clearly indicating an intent to escalate and push the region toward a new confrontation.
In this context, our forces were subjected today to two separate attacks in the Jazira region, constituting a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.
While our forces have adhered to, and continue to adhere to, the terms of the ceasefire agreement, we affirm that the military preparations undertaken by the Damascus government stand in complete contradiction to its obligations and reveal deliberate efforts to undermine de-escalation and steer the situation toward war instead of political solutions.
We call on the international community and relevant parties to exert urgent efforts to ensure compliance with the ceasefire agreement and to prevent any escalatory steps that would threaten security and stability in the region.

The violence in north-east Syria must stop.
Lives are being lost & communities torn apart. I’ve pressed Ministers for urgent action - raising this in Parliament & writing to the Foreign Secretary - as Kurdish communities and other minorities face grave risk.
Action is needed now
