Sophie Cunningham isn't being Right or Left or anything else everyone desperately wants to pin on her.
She's being rational.
Girls sports are for girls: That's a normal thought from normal people. Rational people understand this and agree.
Irrational people think the WNBA should not protect women and girls in sports. Some of those irrational people coach in the WNBA.
Sophie did nothing wrong. Those who don't protect girls and women (in sports and everywhere else) are doing something very wrong.

This is by far the most damning thing in Fauci’s diaries, or what I’ve read of them. People sometimes get stuck on whether Fauci was right or wrong about where the virus came from, how it spread, etc. But much of that was contested at the time and some of it continues to be. It would have been perfectly within the realm of decency for Fauci to have professional opinions about those matters which turned out to be wrong. I don’t even much mind him getting all bamboozled and doe-eyed about meeting celebrities, though it’s pretty hilarious and does speak to his character a bit.
But no, what’s inexcusable, what ruined lives and deformed entire childhoods, was the imperious dishonesty with which he shamed anyone who questioned him, the moral arrogance with which he feigned certainty on hugely contested questions and then did everything in his considerable power to tank the careers of people who dissented—people with credentials just as good as his, who were a damn sight more honest about how sure they could be and a damn sight more humble about how entitled they were to make life-changing decisions for the voiceless masses.
It’s one thing to have a wrong opinion—or a right opinion, for that matter—about a developing situation based on partial evidence. It’s another thing to know you’re unsure and still talk and act like you’ve descended from the chilly heights of the empyrean to issue cold commands. The man is one of the most odious characters in our public life, and emblematic of an attitude that needs naming and shaming, unpleasant as it is for us all to look back on that wretched time.
Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, and many atheists make a similar argument when it comes to Biblical canon: "The Church existed first and had the authority to determine what books belonged in the Bible."
But the reality is different. God inspired the writing of Scripture. The books already had authority the moment the pen hit the papyrus. The canon was decided by God before any councils came together — they just recognized what already was authoritative.
Flipping this around, and making the Church itself the supreme authority, creates issues. This creates a system where the true authority is the institutional body — it gets to decide what is "Christian" and what is not. This is why we have people joining these churches despite disagreeing with their doctrines. "At least I'm in the right church."
But that was never how Christ's Church was structured.
Jesus is our High Priest. He is the cornerstone of the church. He is God. Scripture is God-breathed and is infallible and inerrant. It is the standard by which all things are to be judged.
This is why the Bereans were commended. They tested Paul's teachings woth Scripture.
Acts 17:11
Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
Let's be like the Bereans and hold God's Word as our supreme authority.
@remarks So, the farm workers would receive amnesty, but their dreamer children would still be in a state of limbo? This is ridiculous. We can’t fix our immigration system by patchwork. And we can’t fix it with amnesty, just kicking the can further down the road.
Isn’t it weird how unsubsidized consumer goods like TVs, appliances, clothes, all get cheaper and cheaper…while anything government puts its hands on, healthcare, housing, food, tuition, cars, utilities…just gets more and more unaffordable?
Oh well. Probably nothing.
Agree.
When they cry for “equality,” what they really want is to be treated the “equally” as those who have worked hard and put in the time.
Well, no.
If all you do is whine and insist that everyone cater to you, you are not equal to those who work hard. You do not get the same rewards.
You just don’t.
You are not equal to them.
I tuned into Joe Rogan yesterday and heard Bernie Sanders' economics, Barack Obama's foreign policy, and Ro Khanna's conspiracy theories.
And then I realized JD Vance was talking.
I want a candidate in 2028 who doesn't mirror the Democrats -- and who can win.
Mr. VP, this is not the way.

And once again we take this opportunity to educate everyone on the role that venting and flaring play in oil and gas production.
We will do so using the Senator as an example.
Venting and flaring are the industry's primary methods of releasing built-up pressure out before it causes an accident.
Venting quietly releases natural gas while flaring sets that gas on fire because sometimes the build up is so large and dangerous only way to handle excess methane is to quickly give it the old Viking funeral.
Both of these methods are highly regulated by state and federal governments.
In the Senator's situation, pressure was building and asafety valve failed, resulting in uncontrolled release of methane.
Had it been burned - aka "flared' that certainly would have been something to see on the Senate floor.
In this case it was vented.
And now you know all about venting and flaring.
Assisted suicide legalization is bad medicine and even worse public policy. It abandons the sick, destroys human equality by creating a killable caste of people, and cheapens the intrinsic dignity of human life. | @thewesleyjsmith

For the whole of time man has wanted to sit on Gods throne. That seat is reserved for Christ. In this world, no government, church, majority or king can compel your conscious. No man can sit in God’s throne.
If you want a more Christian nation, start the difficult task of using persuasion. Not coercion.
God does not compel your worship, why do you think man should be allowed to.
LOL. King @GavinNewsom was in Davis, CA today for a photo op.
He told the kids, “You can’t have a cookie unless we talk to your parents first.”
Meanwhile kids are having their name and “gender identity” changed at school without any parent notification.
But yeah, let’s ask mom and dad before they get a cookie.
Compare Calvin Coolidge on America’s 150th anniversary:
“It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers."
