El Parlamento israelí aprobó hoy, con votos del oficialismo, la Ley de Pena de Muerte, que instaura la ejecución como pena para los palestinos condenados por terrorismo. Además de las objeciones morales a la pena de muerte, la ley en la práctica consagra legalmente prácticas discriminatorias y contrarias al derecho internacional e israelí. Expertos en seguridad advirtieron al parlamento que, lejos de disuadir futuros ataques terroristas, la ley puede de hecho tener el efecto opuesto. La aprobaci��n de la ley fue celebrada con champagne en el recinto por su principal promotor, el diputado multicondenado por terrorismo Itamar Ben-Gvir. "Esta ley no es ni ética, ni judía, ni democrática ni aporta a la seguridad", anunció en el parlamento el diputado Guilad Kariv, miembro del partido Hademocratim.

Publicó el diputado tras su aprobación: "Israel no se convertirá en un Estado kahanista. Presentaré una petición ante la Corte Suprema de Justicia en los próximos días, junto al Instituto Zulat y la Voz Rabínica por los Derechos Humanos, en contra de la Ley de Pena de Muerte: una ley inmoral que contradice los valores fundamentales del Estado de Israel. Cada día que la ley sea parte del boletín oficial del Estado de Israel es una mancha a nuestra imagen y nuestros valores. No lo toleraremos".

La sociedad israelí se organiza para impedir un nuevo ataque a sus instituciones de parte de la extrema derecha en el poder. Compartí para apoyar la causa.

I have a lot of journalists following me and I am imploring you, if you are writing about the antisemitic attack in Golders Green, *please* emphasise these two things:

- Hatzola is a volunteer-driven, no-cost service that is *entirely* self-funded. It relies 100% on private donations and community fundraising rather than government or public NHS funding.

- While operating in largely Jewish areas, it services Jews and non-Jews equally.

You may not deem it necessary to include this information, and in a perfect world it would not be. However, these are the two lies being spread by antisemites in order to justify the attack and use it to spread even more hostility against the Jewish people. Please include these facts.
