The SEC is pretty clearly trying to drive US crypto firms abroad.
Dems like Warren cheer this, but it's better for the US to have crypto firms under *our* regulatory thumb.

🚨Today, OFAC sanctioned the Houthi network for facilitating commodity trades from Russia—including weapons and stolen Ukrainian grain—via cryptocurrency. 8 crypto wallets tied to these illicit activities were identified. Read our blog to learn more: https://t.co/nuwZu1c4OL
🚨BREAKING: Ukraine has captured Chinese nationals fighting alongside Russian forces.
This is a major development—following repeated reports that the CCP has been bankrolling and supplying Russia with ammunition, body armor, and assault rifles.
Beijing is no longer sitting on the sidelines; it’s actively backing and joining Putin’s war effort, aiming to weaken the West and expand its grip on global power.
🚨On the same day that Chinese controlled AI @deepseek_ai shocked the stock market - openly erasing the CCP's atrocities and oppression - @CGChenLiNY, Consul General of China in NY, rang the bell at @NYSE.
The U.S. must not capitulate to CCP manipulation of our free market.
DeepSeek is legitimately impressive, but the level of hysteria is an indictment of so many.
The $5M number is bogus. It is pushed by a Chinese hedge fund to slow investment in American AI startups, service their own shorts against American titans like Nvidia, and hide sanction evasion. America is a fertile bed for psyops like this because our media apparatus hates our technology companies and wants to see President Trump fail.
We have so many useful idiots uncritically reporting Chinese propaganda as fact because on some level, they want it to be true. They love seeing hundreds of billions of dollars wiped off the market cap off our largest companies.
Chinese Google-competitor Baidu just filed a blockchain patent. If the US doesn't start taking blockchain seriously we will lose control!

The Chinese Communist Party officially leaning into web3. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently released a statement on Proposal No. 02969, “Proposal on Promoting the Development of Web3 Industry.”
A few key take aways 🧵
More government support for Web3 infrastructure as a key innovation and competitive focus. Was this Washington DC? No, it’s Beijing and Hong Kong. @POTUS please consider. https://t.co/89s0tQBOGJ
In my personal opinion, the most important Congress members to contact to stop a CBDC are the 10 Republicans who (hopefully unwittingly) sponsored HR1122 that would actually green-light a contractor-built CBDC.
If you live in their district (or at least their state) they will listen to you if, say, you suggest they rewrite HR1122 into a blanket ban like Mike Lee's No CBDC Act.
These members are:
Emmer (MN-6)
Hill (AR-2)
Davidson (OH-8)
Flood (NE-1)
Norman (SC-5)
Donalds (FL-19)
Biggs (AZ-5)
Loudermilk (GA-11)
Sessions (TX-17)
Kim (CA-40)
Since December, I have voiced concerns about Binance’s ties to China & the CCP. Today’s report on their workforce in Shanghai raises yet another red flag about their operations both here in America & globally—and the influence of the CCP in crypto markets. https://t.co/qGmEpoKy4X
Elizabeth Warren building an army against property rights, human flourishing, and US-based innovation — with strong alignment with the Chinese Communist Party's CBDC goals. This "army" must be red. Full hammer-and-sickle. Got it.
Indeed, the Payment Stablecoin Act, which remains a very active pursuit for Congress, would enshrine in law a regime where stabelcoin funds would be held with cash at the Fed and short-term T-Bills. We need this law now more than ever if we want a truly safe financial system.
Thank you to @govkristinoem for VETOING HB 1193 which limits digital asset freedom in SD!
“[Digital assets] are among the best hopes to protect our fundamental liberties to free speech, free association, and the free exchange of ideas." - @DavidMMcintosh

I VETOED HB 1193. This bill adopts a definition of ‘money’ to specifically exclude crypto like Bitcoin. And it opens the door to the risk that the federal government could adopt a Central Bank Digital Currency.
South Dakota will always stand for Economic Freedom.
#NEW: Chairman @PatrickMcHenry, @RepRitchie, colleagues reintroduce bipartisan legislative fix to digital asset reporting requirements.
The Keep Innovation in America Act provides critical clarification to crypto provision in the #IIJA.

Good to be back! I wrote about some fascinating survey data we pulled together on Congress and crypto.
A bipartisan majority of senior Hill staffers expect digital asset regulation this year. But lawmakers are deeply divided on the crypto's long-term future.
