This was a space literally created to support Palestinians.
Yet somehow, the voice of oppression & violence was centred.
This is the voice that had no manners and never does.
Such ppl, to do better, need to begin with humility.
In The Intercept, @JudithLevine declares:
"One thing is true: Hamas and other Palestinian militants committed unspeakable sexual violence against Israeli civilians on October 7." She adds that "some individuals and extreme-left organizations have denied these atrocities or upheld them as justified resistance." (https://t.co/0FMDvaMFmn)
The Nation's @KathaPollitt likewise declares that "Hamas fighters raped Israeli women and girls" on Oct, 7th, and that one has "to be a conspiracist or rape denialist" to question that. (https://t.co/rM0a9tajcT)
Actually, only one thing is true: as of now, there are only unsubstantiated claims of sexual violence against Israeli civilians on Oct. 7th, and ample grounds to question them.
There is no one who's claimed they were sexually assaulted. There is no physical or forensic evidence. (https://t.co/Q2eIBp3Foe)
Out of hundreds of Oct. 7th witnesses, only one person gave testimony claiming to have witnessed sexual violence, and their story is outlandish (including mutilation and necrophilia) and undermined by another witness. Another purported "witness" emerged nearly two months later and their story is even more ridiculous than the first individual. (This man claims to have witnessed the gang rape of a "beautiful woman with the face of an angel", followed by seeing a woman's head rolling on the ground after being dismembered with a shovel).
Rape claims have been made by the Israeli group Zaka, which has been caught lying about beheaded babies and other atrocities. (https://t.co/jGzaiyrSZ3)
To allege rape, Israel used a photo of a Kurdish woman taken outside Israel. It then quietly deleted it.
To support their declarations, both The Intercept and The Nation link to a @PHR_IL report. That PHR report approvingly cites the documented fraudsters Zaka. And PHR, by their own admission, has interviewed a grand total of zero witnesses.
Therefore, we are left only with unsubstantiated allegations and no corroborating evidence, lodged by a genocidal Israeli government that has been caught lying countless times.
People who rush to parrot Israel's claims are therefore acting only on their own credulity and, I suspect, their own racist stereotypes of Muslim men.

🎄No Christmas celebrations in Gaza & West Bank for the Christian Palestinians killed by IOF. Brutalized, as Muslim Palestinians are. Robbed, forced from their homes, beaten, bombed, families torn, picked off by snipers. #JesusChrist#EndTheSiege#EndTheGenocide#FreePalestine
When we talk about anti-semitism on campus then, we have to talk about how anti-Muslim racism gets weaponized to once more police, surveil, and criminalize Islam and Muslims and this is not in service of protecting Jewish students, but rather Christian white supremacy. 6/fin
@rachelewis3@accountpalatine@Kulesh0vEffect I don’t read that as saying it’s fine, I read it as: the ongoing Nakba is of primary relevance. That the hatred of Judaism is erroneous, arising from the intertwining of it w the state of Israel. Argument being that antisemitism is used by Israel as justification for genocide.
@Tom_Daraki12 …Isn’t what Audra said still relevant? That they’re the only ones resisting? Their action in the Red Sea is in response to ongoing Nakba. Rather than Tehran/religion per se. Or if it was in Tehran’s interest, it seems 2nd in relevance to the dire situation, no?
@Tom_Daraki12 I guess land & nation/the people is what I meant by material conditions in Gaza. Not religion. But I gather you’re saying it’s moreso about religion & Tehran’s interests when it comes to Houthis(?) - I guess my q is, even if origin/motives aren’t pure interest for Palestinians…
@accountpalatine@Kulesh0vEffect She says Israel has used religion as justification for occupation & violence for 75 yrs, & that has been harmful. I believe the argument is, basically, antisemitism isn’t the driver of resistance in Red Sea rn, response to genocide is.
@accountpalatine@Kulesh0vEffect Yes, the slogan shows contempt for Israel & Jewish ppl. The two are paired in this slogan. & in much of the state’s propaganda. I believe Audra is saying that that’s wrong.
@Kulesh0vEffect@accountpalatine Wouldn’t you say pushing people into a confined space and using air strikes on them creates conditions of life calculated to bring about physical destruction
