Congratulations @rprobinpark! Excited for many more productive collaborations as we continue to expand our head and neck #CancerResearch footprint here @MoffittNews.
✨Thrilled to be joining @MoffittNews! Will be starting as a H&N/Endocrine Oncologist with an early therapeutics development/translational research focus. Excited for what’s ahead!
👇Publication Alert: Simple Blood and Mouth Rinse Tests for HPV-Related Throat Cancer. Our @MoffittNews team explored new, less invasive ways to detect and monitor HPV-related throat cancer using two easy-to-collect samples:
🩸 blood (cell-free HPV DNA)
🦷oral rinse/gargles
The MOSAIC microscope by @ABCUCBerkeley is out! Congratulation to Gokul and all the authors @Eric_Betzig@futianming!!
Check out those extravasating tumor cells!! Amazing technology!

News from @AmelioLab: Advanced #SalivaryCancer and developing glands share common #p53 pathway regulation. Pro-tumorigenic FGFR2 distinguishes foetal development from high-grade MEC.

4. Finally, we used computational and molecular analyses of human and murine salivary MEC tumors to reveal that alternative splicing of FGFR2 distinguishes C1/M2-positive MEC tumors from transcriptional programs operational in normal fetal development.
3. We developed an autochthonous mouse model of salivary MEC in which expression of the C1/M2 oncogene is targeted to Krt14-positive ductal cells in the murine salivary gland and confirmed that C1/M2 expression coupled with Tp53 loss drives progression to high-grade MEC.
🎓 Big congratulations to Julia Billington, PhD @JuliaBCancerSci on the successful defense of her doctoral dissertation entitled, “An FGFR-p53 Developmental Signaling Axis Drives Salivary Cancer Progression”. Julia was mentored by @AmelioLab during her PhD. Well done Julia! 👏🏼
Scientists propose the Human Proteoform Project—an initiative to describe a complete set of protein forms expressed from the ~20,000 genes encoded in the human genome—as a critical next step in disease research.

Representing #Racing in the #Mazda MX5 Cup at INDYCAR St. Pete Gran Prix!
@iRacing & @Mazda took me from Sim2Reality almost a decade ago, and I’m So Proud and grateful to have iRacing on the hood for the death match that is MX5 Cup, against a lot of you pro drivers!
Thrilled to share our story out in Cancer Cell, led by the amazing Kay Hanggi (now on the job market). We show that necrotic forms of cell death and the subsequent release of IL1a drives myeloid-based immune suppression in models of breast cancer. (1/11)
