At DesignBoxed we decided to take a plunge and start a survey organisation that does things differently. If you see our website you’ll see what’s different — nobody puts out such granular seat by seat data.
I’ll be honest: the findings of our Punjab survey surprised even me. Being from Punjab myself I’m deeply concerned about drugs and crime in the state. But the survey findings were saying something else: women and the poor are happy with freebies and cash transfers. We checked this in multiple ways: a phone survey, a ground qualitative survey, a ground quantitative survey, and then a survey of local community groups across the state.
We had a choice to make. Should we go with our data or our instinct?
According to our data, if only men were voting, the AAP would still be leading but would be under the majority mark. There is a huge gender gap among men and women voting for AAP. Less than 3 out of ten respondents say they intend to vote AAP, but around 5 of 10 women do the same.
It is the women who are giving the AAP comfort.
This is a movie we have seen before. Working with Late Shri Ajit Pawar in Maharashtra in 2024 Vidhan Sabha elections, we helped the NCP go from extreme anti-incumbency to a bumper victory by campaigning over the women’s cash transfer scheme. The scheme has been found to beat anti-incumbency in state after state, including Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh.
It should also be remembered that the AAP not only has a women’s cash transfer scheme but is also lucky to have a very divided opposition. Who would have thought that one day UP will look bi-polar and Punjab will look multi-polar!
Our website https://t.co/Ek71YcsePI helps you explore our Punjab opinion poll of seat by seat, region by region. Of course, the election is 4-5 months away and a lot can change. We will track the change month on month, releasing the next monthly tracker around the 15th of November.
To our critics: abuse us, but please do a deep dive into our data.
SCORE: Making public opinion count
SCORE is India's first and only opinion polling company that measures public mood not for media operations but for the people.
SCORE seeks to inform the public conversation with accurate and timely measurement of public opinion so that our political discourse can be richer and more nuanced.
SCORE seeks to understand what people think on a given day, even if it challenges the prevailing assumptions in the noisy world of media and social media.
SCORE is founded and led by Naresh Arora, who is also the force behind DesignBoxed, India's premier political consulting firm. SCORE will conduct surveys only in states where DesignBoxed has no active political campaign engagements, ensuring transparency and avoiding any potential conflicts of interest.
What we stand for
SCORE respects the sanctity of data even if the data is surprising to our own team.
SCORE puts aside political partisanship to have a single-minded focus on accuracy and granularity.
SCORE opinion polling follows rigorous scientific methodology and uses multiple feedback loops to estimate the truth and nothing but the truth.
SCORE’s promise
SCORE shall endeavor to inform India's political and policy discourse by moving away from predictions to trackers that shall track change day on day, week on week, month on month.
SCORE shall endeavor to inform the public of what's happening on every seat, and not just throughout the state.
SCORE shall empower the public to assert the issues that really matter to them before the political class so that our democracy may have more light and less heat.
Freedom was earned through courage, sacrifice and an unwavering belief in India.
Today, we honour that legacy and celebrate the spirit of a nation that continues to dream, grow and move forward.
DesignBoxed wishes you and your family a very Happy Independence Day!

The successful ending of the Cockroach Janta Party protests has only increased the vacuum of leadership in Indian politics.
The protests have shown the need for politicians across the political divide to spend more time listening to people rather than just talking to them. The message remains as loud for the government as for the opposition.
Politics is about people. Politicians in their ivory towers will be made irrelevant sooner or later, and the public will find its new heroes.
Punjab is an unusual state; so naturally the elections here are also as unusual.
Cash transfers for women which worked in other states like Maharashtra & Karnataka may not be enough in Punjab.
The Reason?

Are regional parties that seek to concentrate their legacy and future in the hands of a chosen heir destined to face the same challenges that the TMC is confronting today?
Those who spent decades working alongside the founder are rarely comfortable taking instructions from the next generation, especially when authority appears inherited rather than earned.
At the same time, today’s voter, particularly Gen Z, is far less accepting of dynastic entitlement. Legacy may command respect, but legitimacy has to be earned.
The irony is that this changing pulse is often sensed by everyone in the power corridors except the king or queen determined to see the prince or princess inherit the throne in a democracy.

The viral success of the Cockroach Janta Party should not be seen only as dissent against the ruling party, but also a mirror to the opposition.
India’s Gen Z youth feel neither side is listening to them.

Hard work or hardly working?
A leader is known by his or her hardwork which translates into the success of their leadership just like Karnataka Deputy CM @DKShivakumar.
Do others in the party need to follow suit? Naresh Arora explains:

My takeaway from the election results yesterday is that parties and leaders who don’t do things differently are doomed.
Parties whether in power or in opposition need to change their campaign/governance style and mechanisms according to the changing public mood.
Change is the only constant.

The man.
The work.
The legacy.
This little tribute is not about an end.
It is a reflection inspired by Ajit Pawar’s work ethic, clarity, and commitment to Maharashtra.
This is the #AjitPawar we worked with.
And this legacy doesn’t end here.
