He wanted State to lose so bad. He said that State wouldn't even host and would finish 3rd in the regional. He didn't even believe this but he knew State is the most passionate fanbase in college baseball and would get the most interactions. Thats why he did it.

@ballparknation @JsSportsnerd @OccupyLF 1983 was a 6 team regional. MS State won the first 3 games behind Raphael Palmeiro and Will Clark. Beat Texas once. UT then beat Ms State twice to advance to Omaha where they played Alabama.
