In 2025, several notable space missions are planned:

Blue Ghost 1 Moon Landing: In mid-January, Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost 1 lander will deliver 10 NASA payloads to Mons Latreille on the Moon's near side. The mission will study the lunar regolith and its interactions with the solar wind and Earth's magnetic field. It will also capture images of the lunar sunset and analyze surface changes at dusk.

Intuitive Machines' IM-2 Mission: Scheduled for February, the IM-2 spacecraft aims to land near the Moon's south pole. It will assess volatile compounds in the lunar regolith using a drill and mass spectrometer. Additionally, it will deploy the Lunar Trailblazer satellite to map water deposits, aiding future Artemis mission landing site selections.

SpaceX In-Orbit Propellant Transfer Test: Planned for March, SpaceX intends to demonstrate propellant transfer between two Starship vehicles docked in low Earth orbit. This test is crucial for validating the spacecraft's capability to undertake extended missions to the Moon and Mars.

NASA-ISRO Earth Science Mission: Later in the year, NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch a joint Earth science mission. This mission aims to provide critical data on Earth's changing ecosystems, ice mass, and natural hazards.

ESA's Space Rider Test Flight: The European Space Agency plans to conduct an orbital test flight of its uncrewed Space Rider spaceplane in the third quarter of 2025. Space Rider is a reusable spacecraft designed to perform various scientific experiments in low Earth orbit.

China's Tianwen-2 Mission: China plans to launch the Tianwen-2 (ZhengHe) mission, an asteroid sample-return and comet probe, contributing to the growing field of planetary exploration.

These missions represent significant advancements in lunar exploration, in-orbit refueling technology, Earth science collaborations, and planetary exploration, marking an exciting year ahead in space exploration.
