@KuwaCos@JackHadfield14@Atlas_Ace9 In randomised control trials, controls are usually standard of care— in other words the treatment they would receive anyways.
and anyways a trial requires equipoise— genuine uncertainty on whether an option is beneficial or not
Google before you tweet
@JackHadfield14@Atlas_Ace9 The patients who choose the experimental treatments are unlikely to be comparable to those who don’t.. if you do randomisation than you might as well run a trial
@JackHadfield14@Atlas_Ace9 I actually agree with your main point but the data produced by this would be largely useless without a relevant control group
@davehrdng@SamF_H Parliament is supreme. If the house does not provide consequences, which they don’t, clearly it’s acceptable despite Hoyle’s complaining
@eurosage@aakashgupta Even though it’s uncomfortable, this kind of equipment and its upkeep is expensive and must be paid by someone— if there isn’t an appetite to socialise it then this is the result
@YorkiePride70@macro_pedro@tomhfh If you believe a significant amount of pensioners are in dire need of more money— as you appear to believe— is a small increase year on year really the best way to achieve that?
If, on the contrary it is sufficient for most, surely pegging it to inflation is perfectly acceptable
