HBD @realshellyannfp the fastest starter ever. When she is leaving the blocks even @TysonLGay and @officialasafa stop what they are doing and watch 👀 😄

A thread on how to restore internal rotation (IR) of the shoulder
If you want to:
- Throw anything
- Effectively execute pressing exercises
- Lift your arm above your head
- Have good posture
You want proper IR at the shoulder.
Similar to hip IR, it’s often missing in most...
Med-Ball Yielding Fake Slam for Deceleration
Everyone knows how to slam a med ball, but if you don’t actually let go, then you are required to rapidly stop your momentum.
I like these for teaching a quick deceleration and eccentric absorption of force.
🧠New video: The Biomechanics of the Gluteus Medius & How to Train it
❌Mini-band lateral walks make less and less sense the more we understand the role of the glute med in human movement
✅Here is how the glute med works + exercise recommendations: https://t.co/rKdlLWov6h
Appreciate the opportunity to speak with Tony and Chris. What a fun convo!
Proud to be the “lone wolf” utilizing the FTC philosophy at the collegiate level.
Thanks guys!!!
🍁Shaking like a leaf
Yes, I know.. me implementing a bosu ball. Crazy
Anyway, I LOVE removing stability in upper body hypertrophy accessories as a way to accentuate hypertrophy
I find that this instability enhances the time under tension
45 sec iso hold here for that purpose
100m intensive tempo repeats—
5-6x100m @ 11.6-12.5s.
Push, build a fast rhythm, maintain w/ as little energy expenditure as possible.
Tempo really isn’t as bad as they say. It’s only slow and useless if you allow it to be. If it looks like lazy jogging, it’s probably not tempo.
A thread on the biomechanics of a Split Stance (SS) Deadlift & how to program them
The SS deadlift is a fantastic unilateral exercise that is highly versatile depending on your goal adaptation.
You can use it as a means to both provide a stimulus & restore range of motion..
Good convo last night on different demands of each leg for pitchers
A standard lateral jump gets good drive leg frontal plane action, but what about our land leg?
A basic 1/4 turn allows us to give the lead leg the sagittal plane demands it’ll have upon brace/landing
Took Kemp to the guys today.
Then I took another approach! Instead of “coaching” him through drill and skill work I just told him to “do his thing”. Shoot where you want, how you want...very little “coaching” by me!
He worked his tail off!
I learned something valuable today!
“Our volleyball athletes who performed the best in the Flying 10 also had the best acceleration scores, jumped the highest in both their vertical and broad jump tests, and showed the best repeated power scores during the Scandinavian Rebound Jump Test.” https://t.co/mnKWGw1Noa

EARNING greater ability to overcome inertia and more efficient accel patterns. These skills more innate to some and talent matters but these attributes can be developed ! @BrendanThompsn
Eccentric strength is an important and often overlooked physical component for athletes to improve if they want to become faster or more powerful in their sport. https://t.co/WQdy1F5kx0 via @SimpliFaster
