Le 4 décembre 2025, la Cour africaine des droits de l’homme et des peuples a rendu une décision importante constatant la non-conformité partielle du Kenya aux arrêts historiques Ogiek de 2017 (fond) et 2022 (réparations).

La Cour a estimé que le Kenya n’avait pas pleinement respecté ses obligations contraignantes, notamment en ce qui concerne la reconnaissance du peuple Ogiek en tant que peuple autochtone, la protection de leurs terres ancestrales et la publication des décisions antérieures.

En conséquence, la Cour a émis des ordonnances contraignantes exigeant des mesures immédiates pour assurer la protection des terres, de la culture et des droits fondamentaux de la communauté Ogiek.
