@Ieva59235001 Absolutely! When I was in high school, my sports team made us sign a social media contract stating many things we were not allowed to post. Taught me so many lessons I still stick to, and I am happy I don’t have anything inappropriate around from back then.
@RebeccaOnTech You’re always going to have some risks when posting online, but my tip is to go into settings and turn off your location services for all apps.
@JennJade5477 Keep contact information off of your profiles. My number one rule always! I’ve actually had a follower go through my tagged photos and go through my friends to find one with a phone number listed. They called them to get to me. Scary times
@RobinFindlay2 I am always careful! Since I was a young teen I was in competitive sports; we had to sign a social media contract, no posts with alcohol, no posts in bathing suits etc. Taught me many things that I still follow today
@BrocktheJock7 We had almost the exact same thought Brock. This post has me thinking about what my current electronic tattoo looks like… is there anything I don’t want on there? 🤔
It is extremely important to be aware of if what you’re posting is private or public. As learned in video clip 4.1 we leave an electronic tattoo and nothing can be fully erased! Watch what you post and be careful #edst160u
Protect your online information by limiting followers, keeping accounts private, and not using your full name on personal social accounts! Watch for geotagging and cookies as well (Naffi, 2013). #edst160U
To control your online information make sure you are online (Naffi, 2013)! You can’t stop misinformation, rumours, or inappropriate behaviours if you can’t see them #edst160U I have seen first hand how bad online rumours can be. Anyone else?

In light of this weeks video, I am trying to think of any ‘online no-no’s’ I have committed. I can think of many times where I have almost posted out of anger! Anyone have a time where they accidentally committed a no-no? #edst1160u
@AndeJacqueline Oh yes chain mail! Forgot about that. Definitely still happening but in a different way. I see them on Snapchat stories, how weird? #edst1160u
@IngiBroom@MsReyes1586 I think they can too! Personally I use it to connect with my friends from all over the world! Without tech and social media when else could I talk to my best friend in NZ with a 16 hour time difference 😅
@ValandeenaT@MsReyes1586 Absolutely! Did a whole project on this last semester. Check out this video, you might enjoy! https://t.co/JKf8WUJ5tn #edst1160u
