I am really bullish on Drake Lindsey.
Excited to see him continue to develop in his second year as the starting QB for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Cardinal fans, let me know if that OT GW TD Run reminded of you anyone.😉

Arizona Cardinals - Position Group Breakdown.
Part 1: EDGE
Arizona's EDGE room was one of the NFL's least productive units in 2025, ranking 27th in both sacks and pressures.
Josh Sweat accounted for nearly 70% of the group's sacks and almost 40% of its pressures. If he's traded, the Cardinals are left with one of the thinnest EDGE rooms in the league.
The only additions this offseason were Elliott Brown (CFL), Eku Leota, and undrafted rookie Cameron Robertson. Combined, they have produced just 1 sack and 4 pressures at the NFL level.
As it stands, it's difficult to see the pass rush drastically improving in 2026 from the EDGE group, especially if Sweat is actually traded at some point during the season.
The Cardinals have $125M in total contract value allocated to their EDGE room, which ranks 18th league-wide at the position (~60% coming from Sweat's contract). 11 out of the 14 teams behind the Cardinals have a first-round EDGE on a rookie contract, helping keep their positional spending lower.
How have the Cardinals' drafted EDGE rushers performed relative to their draft classes?
Zaven Collins' PFF grade ranks 6th among 22 EDGE defenders from the 2021 Draft, while his Pass Rush Win Rate ranks 9th.
BJ Ojulari's PFF grade ranks 32nd among 33 EDGE defenders from the 2023 Draft, while his Pass Rush Win Rate ranks 24th out of 32.
Jordan Burch's PFF grade ranks 28th among EDGE defenders from the 2025 Draft, while his Pass Rush Win Rate ranks 22nd out of 27.
Monti Ossenfort has had multiple opportunities through free agency and the draft to invest in the position. Available options during his tenure have included Danielle Hunter, Jonathan Greenard, Will Anderson Jr., Jaelan Phillips, Trey Hendrickson, Odafe Oweh, and Rueben Bain Jr., among others.
Baron Browning, Zaven Collins and BJ Ojulari are all free agents after this season.
Unless significant changes or improvements are made, EDGE projects to be one of Arizona's biggest roster needs heading into the 2027 offseason... yet again.

This has gained some steam on social media, so just to provide some clarity:
#AZCardinals edge rusher Josh Sweat is not being traded. Not to the #Packers or anywhere. Carry on…
I think we have jumped the shark on discourse around X-receivers and some of the reaction to Mike LaFleur's comments on his top two WRs yesterday got me going on this topic.
TJ Watt to the Arizona Cardinals hypothetical trade idea.
The contract has enormous cap hits, each of the following three years they rank:
2026: 8th
2027: 18th
2028: 14th
(All positions)
The Cardinals would be able to take on the contract easily and would benefit with the draft capital.
Cardinals cap space:
2026: $35M (6th)
2027: $128M (2nd)
Steelers cap space:
2026: $4M (32nd)
2027: $41M (15th)
Essentially would be a 2 year contract for the Cardinals to take on with the final year having the option to save $36M on the cap.
TJ Watt might not be worth the contract/in his prime any longer but he would be the second best pass rusher on the team (pending Sweat still being here).
Should a hypothetical trade like this take place, hopefully a new GM is in place to use that pick effectively.

@JNay_LSS I feel you with the comments, same thing would happen anytime something like this would be brought up with KM when he was here in AZ.
Great breakdown!
Arizona Cardinals passing touchdowns over a 10 year period.
Top league ranks:
3rd in 2015 with 35.
7th in 2025 with 29.
11th in 2016 with 28.
How many passing TDs will the #Cardinals have in the 2026/27 season?
My Guess is 20 via 3 QBs.

Trade ideas for Josh Sweat⬇️
I don't know if a trade request came from Josh Sweat (nor do I care) but what I do know is that the #Cardinals have received trade calls on pass rusher Josh Sweat.
I have previously discussed how the Cardinals edge group was bottom 5 in not only sacks but also in pressures with nothing done to address the position during this offseason. Trading Sweat would leave an even bigger hole with the Edge room.
I wouldn't look trade him unless there was a really good trade package the Cardinals would get in return. Three teams that have been linked are the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Diving into the logic for these three team trades starting with the Packers:
Reasoning:
-The obvious connection with former DC/HC Jonathan Gannon is in GB. Gannon might not have been the sole reason Sweat signed in AZ but he definitely played a part.
-The Packers are in win now mode. They may not have the time to continue Lukas Van Ness' development and already trading Rashan Gary, they already have a Batman in Parsons, Sweat would be the perfect Robin pairing.
What I would want in Return:
-The Cardinals should be asking for RT Zach Tom who is coming off a partially torn patellar tendon and also only has $3Mil guaranteed on his contract extension.
-The Cardinals would address a major need at RT, give Tom more than enough time to get to full health and could easily give him more guaranteed money with their cap space for 2026 and beyond.
Why it works:
-The Packers have multiple examples (Tom included) of making day 2/3 draft picks along the OL work. They have a few young OL in the wings with Jordan Morgan and Anthony Belton.
-Cardinals get a RT and can afford to up his guaranteed money and APY.
-Post June 1st the trade works for both teams.
Alternate option:
-Luke Van Ness who is still a developmental pass rusher - still young, tools/traits and would be a bit of a wildcard. I would want a draft pick included with LVN.
Eagles:
Reasoning:
-Sweat previously being with the Eagles and winning a SB there, returning to the team that draft him would make sense for Sweat.
-The Eagles are always looking to make moves and have shown they don't shy away from trading picks for players. Would expect them to have another high pick for the eventual AJ Brown trade.
What I would want in Return:
-The Eagles would need to send over one of their DL players either Moro Ojomo or Nolan Smith along with a draft pick.
Why it works:
-Cardinals get younger and the position and pick up a draft pick.
-Eagles get a veteran pass rusher to complement Jonathan Greenard.
Alternate option:
-Multiple draft picks.
Buccaneers:
There aren't many players I believe the Buccaneers would trade over, this would just be draft capital that would be sent over.
Would start at a second round pick and wouldn't take anything less.
Favourite package:
RT Zach Tom. This would solidify the OL for the Cardinals.
Two good/great starting OTs, a good quality starting G with a young G who I believe will be a stud drafted in the second round with a top 10 C to round it off. Get the OL ready for the QB in 2027.
Will any of this happen given the GM the Cardinals currently have? Probably not but thanks for reading!
