And there it is… the very first state stablecoin framework of the GENIUS era, in my sweet home, Alabama.
I had the honor of joining Gov. Ivey, bill sponsor Rep. Shaw & Securities Commission Director Senn for the signing ceremony at the state capitol today.
1/ Today, @crypto_council and @BlockchainAssn, joined by a broad coalition of more than 120 organizations from across the digital asset ecosystem, urged the Senate Banking Committee to move forward with a markup on market structure legislation.
Years of bipartisan work have brought Congress to an important moment. The U.S. needs clear, durable rules that protect consumers, provide certainty, and reinforce American leadership in digital asset innovation.
.@GovernorKayIvey just signed Rep Mike Shaw’s HB259 into law, making Alabama the first state in the US to enact a state stablecoin framework. The bill passed the Senate 34-0 & the House 97-1.
Congrats to Rep Shaw, Gov Ivey & the Legislature on this historic accomplishment!
At the Oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice hearing, @RepBarryMoore stood up for software developers - who write code, but don’t control other people’s money - and asked USAG Pam Bondi what the DOJ is doing to stop pursuing regulation by prosecution. 👇
Great to be back in Dallas with our friends @TXblockchain_ at @NABSummit connecting with so many incredible leaders throughout the @na_blockchain network.
The state motto of Alabama is “We dare defend our rights”
Today we joined over 100 organizations lead by @fund_defi to let congress know that the right to develop & publish code is a non-negotiable.
Code is speech. We will always stand up for developers’ right to free speech
Today, a coalition of 100+ signatories join DEF in sending a letter to Congress.
Software developer protections are a non-negotiable in digital asset market structure legislation. This critical issue unites us — crypto and tech builders, investors, and advocates.
It was great to be in Russellville & Florence last week with local business leaders, policymakers, and fellow crypto advocates. This Alabama gathering perfectly reflects our mission of education and collaboration.

I enjoyed meeting with other legislators (Rep Kiel, Rep Underwood, Rep Pettus) and local leaders to tour the Celestial Mining bitcoin mining operation in the Florence/Muscle Shoals area. I've been to many datacenters in my career, but I've never seen anything like the lean-n-mean efficiency of a BTC operation.
We got to see the various iterations of the operations, including the latest cutting edge modular approach which was being installed before our eyes.
These BTC mining outfits work closely with local utilities to use off-peak, otherwise-wasted electrical capacity to produce value for the local economy. They provide local jobs and can help bring critical infrastructure to underserved areas. Lastly, they increase the resiliency and value of the blockchain network itself.
Great to see this in Alabama! Thanks to Will Middleton of Celestial Mining for hosting us!
Elder financial exploitation is on the rise, which is why I'm proud to lead the GUARD Act to give law enforcement agencies the tools they need to bring scammers to justice. I’m grateful for the support from our state and local agencies for this critical legislation.
The ABA would like to extend our thanks to the ENTIRE Alabama US House Delegation for their support of both CLARITY and GENIUS today. We appreciate your commitment to creating clear rules of the road for the financial future of Alabamians, as well as all Americans. 👏👏🇺🇸🇺🇸 👏👏
Great resource for those interested in state advocacy. If you would like to learn more our efforts in Alabama, please reach out! Thanks to @BlockchainAssn & @chainlink for the "Accelerator" recognition.

Alabama is officially on the map!
Our SWC Alabama Chapter President @gyas_i hosted their first SWC event at the Sloss Tech Happy Hour last week. We were proud to sponsor the event and can’t wait to see the chapter grow in Alabama
We are urging support for the Lummis digital asset tax amendment on the floor today @SenKatieBritt@SenTuberville. AL crypto owners will benefit from this thoughtful policy.
🚨Today the Senate votes on Big Beautiful Bill. @SenLummis has an amendment that would unlock huge growth for US crypto (de minimis, staking/mining tax timing, mark to market etc)
Call Sen Finance Chair @MikeCrapo 202 224-6142 & @LeaderJohnThune 202-224-2321 w/ your support!

Another landmark day for digital assets is underway on the Hill. Huge thanks to @repscfigures for supporting the CLARTY Act in the House Ag committee earlier.
🚨NEW: The CLARITY Act just passed out of the @HouseAgGOP with a vote of 47-6 following a nearly 3-hour markup.
They’re just starting on the markup now in @FinancialCmte.
