Denmark didn’t just “phase out” coal. It made it obsolete.
Coal: 85% → 3%
Wind: 11% → 60%
Solar: 0% → 13%
Renewables: 15% → 92%
Wind scaled first. Biomass stabilised. Solar is now accelerating the endgame.
Transitions evolve. Systems get replaced. #Bettrification#RIPCOAL
#Renewables have overtaken #coal as the world’s largest source of electricity gen. In "25, renewables were at 33.8% of global power output, slightly ahead of coal at 33.0% — a symbolic milestone in the shift to low‑carbon energy. From less than 19% in "00 to nearly 34% in "25.
Here's a fun #solar factoid for #EarthDay: For the first time in history, clean power met every single unit of new global demand. Solar alone met 75% of new global demand. As of April 2026, @WaltDisneyWorld can generate up to 100% of its daytime power from solar energy.
It’s Earth Day 🌎
If we are being realistic and honest - which really is the least we can do - it’s very likely warmer today than anytime in the last 120,000 years. And, the global warming rate the past century - and especially the last 30 years - is “exponentially” faster than when we emerge out of ice ages - the fastest natural warming rate we know.

With 2/3s of our power coming from clean energy and one of the world’s largest economies, California proves climate action and economic strength go hand-in-hand.
In 2025, California’s grid ran on 100% clean electricity for an average of 7 hours a day.

It's incredible how far DAYTIME solar has already come with almost no batteries.
Just think how this will change with batteries, when instead of daytime solar, we get DISPATCHABLE solar.
The solar boom is only just starting...
For the first time in history, clean power met every single unit of new global demand. Fossil generation didn't just plateau, it fell by 38 TWh, even as the global economy grew by 3.2%. No recession needed to kill the rise: this is structural
>Solar alone met 75% of new global demand
>Renewables (33.8%) officially crushed coal (33.0%) for the first time in 100 years
>Total fossil generation is now in a permanent terminal plateau
If you think gas is the "bridge," it’s already burning. With stationary battery costs down a staggering 45% in just 1 year, there is nowhere left for gas to hide when the sun goes down
The economics are settled. The electrification of everything is accelerating. Betting on fossil fuels today is exactly like betting on whale oil while Edison was turning on the lightbulb
The Paradox of Extraction in the #Critical Minerals sector:
Africa supplies raw minerals but remains excluded from high-value manufacturing (batteries, semiconductors, turbines).

South Africa🇿🇦 emerges as a major player in the U.S.🇺🇸 critical minerals supply chain
Africa is playing an increasingly strategic role in supplying the United States with critical minerals essential for advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and defense technologies, with South Africa emerging as a dominant player across key resources.
Péter Magyar’s victory in Hungary’s election would not only break Viktor Orbán’s 16-year hold on power, but could also reshape Budapest’s role in Europe.
Yet even among those backing the opposition leader’s bid, he remains a deeply polarizing figure.

Nearly half of US data centers planned for this year are expected to be delayed or canceled. Not a capital availability or chip problem. It's transformers and electrical equipment. Lead times have gone from 24 months to five years. The big four are spending $650B+ in 2026 alone but can't actually source the gear domestically.
So we must buy from China. Ironic that the country the US has to beat in AI is also the country supplying the parts to build it.
🐄 To get on track for 2030, urgent action across global food supply chains are needed, from reducing methane emissions and increasing crop yields to halving food waste.
