@ali_kallman @psyc220 #CD7 I love your future goals. I agree that society has expectations of women and their careers. I think it’s just as important for us to be able to be successful while also having children!
@teagdavis @psyc220 #CD7 @psyc220 I agree that school psychologists can let their biases affect the level care! This is a very important job and I love that it’s what you want to do in the future!
#CD7 @psyc220 A big goal of mine is to be a social worker. I think it’s important that children who might not have been as lucky as others are being cared for. As a social worker I hope to eliminate the idea of reinforcing social class.
#CD6 @psyc220 An axis of oppression that has not been discussed is classism. Those in a lower class may be treated differently than those of a higher SES just because they are not of the higher ranking. This is shown is many books and movies.
#CD5b @psyc220 Inspiration porn is objectifying someone for satisfaction. This picture shows this man doing what everyone else can do and the crowd cheering for him as they think that it is more inspiring because he is disabled.
#CD5a @psyc220 Our campus may not be easy navigate for someone with a disability. For example, many of the dorms and buildings dont have elavators and only floors and floors of stairs. Also, the ICS bus has only stairs in order to get on which could be difficult to use.
#CD4 @psyc220 Although feminism is to advocate for women, I think that it is showing equality for all genders, not just women. Feminism plays a role in ending oppression because it represents anyone who feelsl discriminated against being treated equally.
@zay_m07 @psyc220 @psyc220 #cd3b I completely agree about this video being a prime example. It’s so sad that this is going on everyday in many countries
#CD3b @psyc220 This statement is communicating that migrants have been forced to to leave due to trying to clean up after the hurricane. People view migrants and immagrants as overcrowding. However, they are only introducing us to new cultures as well as increasing our economy.
#CD3a @psyc220 If a friend of mine did not believe that racism really exists than I would explain to them the history of racism. This person has probably not experienced it, I would try to enlighten them the best I can on recent as well as historic events.
@OliviaLouden @psyc220 This was very well said! I appreciate how you mentioned that stereotypes is a problem in the workplace when it comes to placements as well as womens strengths being neglected. I agree that these are things still present today! #CD2b
@mdangelo529 @psyc220 I complete agree with you. I’m glad that your score has proved this belief incorrect! Religion and politics are two different things so thank you for pointing that out!
#CD2b @psyc220 A form of oppression I would like to discuss is sexism. Women may feel like they are not enough compared to men. For example men getting jobs over women based on gender and not ability. This can create a decrease in confidence for women and affect outside factors.
