@EllaBuffalo I think the main difference between PR and advertising is that PR is free and feels more genuine than advertising. I think for sports teams like the bucks PR is much more beneficial when trying to build a narrative about the team not just sell tickets. #J201 #303 #UWJ201
This week we learned about Public Relations. What do you believe is the greatest skill a PR team can have in order to get a message across to an audience? #UWJ201#J201 #303
@JiayuWa97698051 I do not believe that every organization that polarizes reciprocity in their ads are true and genuine, but I believe some are. The one I automatically think of is the ASPCA which does help many animals. #UWJ201#J201 #303
@kartheiser_owen I think they have a good idea of peoples demographics, but ultimately there is no way for it to be 100% correct. It is algorithm that can be wrong and make assumptions about people based on what it thinks they are looking for. #j201#uwj201 #303
@heidicompe Networks add these stories in to give the audience a lighter feel at the end of their segments which usually talk about what is going wrong in the world. They want to end the night on a happy note. I remember seeing stories like this on NBC Nightly News. #UWj201#j201 #303
@AudreyP248 I believe google does value efficiency over integrity. The computer scientists never go back and look at what the algorithm is showing people unless it gets complaints. I believe this is a major problem with the algorithm. #303 #UWJ201#j201
@StrucelJacob I think companies should be able to post whatever they want as long as it agrees with the social medias terms & services. It is their choice to use the social media service for the company, so they know they are giving up rights to reach a larger audience. #J201 #303
Do you believe that facebook would be nearly as successful if they ran their company slowly and securely going against their motto,“move fast and break things”?
#303 #j201#UWj201
@larissaaa073 I think this will effect the younger generation greatly because they have more access to the media than we ever did. This means they can have a political opinion earlier and be overall exposed to more. #J201 #303
@Jacob_Zeddie I do not think it would benefit political figures to disassociate with the media because media is how people get all their information and "any publicity is good publicity." Political figures would ultimately lose if they had no media interaction. #J201 #303
Do you think that when celebrities post on their polarized social media platforms to support a democratic president they are truly voting for them?
#UWJ201 #303 #J201
@annamcgeough2 I believe places like twitter and facebook do not meet "journalistic" standards, but these websites were not made for journalism. People use them to say their opinion on matters and it is not nearly as formal. #J201 #303
@amandaodem12 I believe that it is an effective way to stop negative speech. Even though there is other platforms, If I was the CEO of twitter I would not want negative speech on my site. It is a very bad look especially with "cancel culture."
@MeganBarbGordon I think religion does play a role in what people are thinking which has been an issue since the birth of America. People tend to only listen to news that confirms their beliefs which makes people trust misinformation more easily. #UWJ201#J201 #303
Do you think that when media sites predicted that Hilary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump by a landslide in the 2016 election more Trump supporters went out to vote because of the hostile media effect? #J201 #303 #UWJ201
