@shiffman love The Nature of Code. One big issue with the physical book itself, I'd say, is the choice of paper. It's very plasticky, and also it's blinding, textbook-white. Is there a reason it couldn't be that nice beige other books tend to have?
@BurkusCat@MystOpossum@LocalThunk Nope. Your choice of which hand to play shapes the next turns, therefore you have meaningful agency which should not be taken. Doing calculation that the game already can do is pointless and does not increase agency.
@LocalThunk You really should have the preview, make it opt-out at most. All of the gamble is in the draw, not the calculation. Hiding it just pushes work to the user.
@MystOpossum@LocalThunk I really hope he doesn't stick to his guns. There's zero reason to not show the previewed score, since it's trivial to calculate regardless. You really don't ballpark your score each hand?
